The temp is 90°F and the humidity is 87%. Great time for outdoor activities if you're a camel. The good news is the the temperature is scheduled to drop to 73° by 4:00 pm. Surprisingly, the chance of rain around that time is only expected to be around 4%. Looks like Norton and I will get to roam the neighborhood soon.

Okay, I read the chart wrong. It will be 73° by 4:00 am. Knew it was too good to be true. And the mosquitoes are already out.

You know how you always hear people talk about how the humidity levels during Virginia summers are so comfortable? That's right. You NEVER hear that because they don't. Especially when you live on the butt of a swamp. For once we have a day with what would be livable temps (82°F is the predicted high), but whoever's in charge of the weather had to go ruin it with 76% humidity.

in NC - my after dinner walk was in pleasantly cool 80's F temps, with light breeze .... and humidity levels in the 70's %! I came home dripping with sweat!

Currently it's windy and cloudy and around 17C.

From around 11am a summerstorm is predicted. With hard wind, a lot of rain and possible thunderstorms. A lot of flights are already cancelled, festivals and sport events are cancelled.

Hopefully it'll be dry between 5 and 6pm when I have to cycle back to my friends' place and walk the dog.

We had some brief but intense lightning storms this afternoon. At one point the rain was so heavy it blew the "ell" off the bottom of a gutter downspout.

Looks like it's clearing up, now.

After a week of autumn weather today will be dry and sunny and temperatures are set to reach 19C, which is still colder than average. Tomorrow and Sunday will be the same weather only a bit warmer, 23C. On Monday temperatures will reach 30C! Only to drop back to 21C on Tuesday.

Typical summer evening in the south -- sun's down, 93 F, cicadas emitting a wall of sound.

Stella cat naps between the thermal drapes & the sliding glass deck door (her 'sun room') - when I opened the door to go out & water the flowers - the shrilling was so loud it woke her up and scared her! She didn't know what was outside!

I have never been so happy to hear cicadas again... we had a wasp situation (re: nest right outside the door stinging us whenever we walked by) that has now been resolved. The wasps were killing all the cicadas in our trees, but now that the wasps are gone the cicadas are back.

Looking for temperatures in the neighborhood of 92ish and thunderstorms today.

Our 8 day long "90° Plus" broke yesterday. Today we were in the 80s with bearable humidity levels. Possible showers tonight.
