.prc is a renamed MOBI.
The OP implied s/he tried to embed fonts in an "azw", I would not dismiss the possibility that they simply failed altogether -- due to not existing. I have seen others make this mistake, I know that much. ![]() |

Guys, thank you so much for help.
Yes I've tried mobi with embedded font. They do render with some random spaces making it hard to read. I thought there is no point in complaining as they will say the language is not supported. PDF do work, but they a bit hard to create with correct page size - A4 renders too small and hard to read. I was using txt files and they worked OK. So is there any way to get custom fonts back? Downgrade, jailbreak? I'm not ready to disassemble my Kindle... |

Amazon intentionally excluded you from ever jail breaking your PW-1 (other than via serial port) when they silently, without your permission, upgraded you to 5.6.1.1.
They are also doing that to the PW-2 owners. {rant} ..... {/rant} ![]() The "custom fonts and screensavers" thread has had over 2 million views. I hope that does not mean we will have to answer this question 2 million times. ![]() No offense intended to those posting here and asking for help - just the observation of a tired, old man. After all, the situation may have changed since any of us answered this question the last time. Last edited by knc1; 07-21-2015 at 08:21 AM. |

As an alternative to calibre you could also use "Kindle Previewer" by Amazon. Convert your book to ePub, embed fonts, and drag&drop your ePub to Kindle Previewer. Il will create a "double format" mobi (containing both plain mobi6 and enriched mobi8 versions). |
