I would never buy a first gen Voyage because of the screen problems. I'm hoping that it gets fixed in gen 2.

No need to explain it. I understand what you mean. Similarly I dislike the Kobo H2O because of its inaccurate touchscreen (which is why I sold mine). Different devices appeal to different people and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

All I can say is that I don't notice any issues when reading on it.

You don't need to explain to us, rather it's for to you to understand that while we appreciate that you perceive problems with the Voyage, many others don't perceive the the same problem.

It's not a matter of us denying that you have a problem, merely that we don't see quite the same screen artifacts as you're seeing, probably to different visual sensitivities to particular wavelengths of light.

I believe that some voyages have more of a problem than others. I also believe that some folks are more sensitive to any lighting differences than others. I am very happy with mine. There might be a slight gradient to it but it just doesn't bother me.

Two and half hours of reading, and the battery goes to around half way down. Is that normal? (Light about #19, wifi off, 450 ebooks on device)

At least it recharges very quickly.

No that is not normal. Your Voyage is either busy indexing or the battery doesn't hold a charge any more.

It's not indexing, and I've noticed this type of battery drain before. Maybe there is a bad file on it.

I love my Voyage and I see no gradient. *I* suspect that a problem that appears to exist to a small number of people will be far down any upgrade list.

As HarryT recommends. If the Voyage doesn't work for you, use something else. You're happy and we don't have to hear you whine.

Something is definitely going on. I've been using mine for the past three days pretty heavily, including a bit of wifi connection and I'm down maybe 1/4.

My battery last so long that I don't bother to turn the wifi off any more. And (except for this month when I'm doing other things) I usually read for 5 or 6 hours a day, on week ends. I don't pay much attention to the battery, but I'll charge it at the end of the weekend, I suppose.

Is it time to ask Amazon about your battery? Or whether there is a bad file? I guess you could reset it to factory defaults first, but that's a pain if you have a lot of books on it. [That might be their suggestion anyway.]

Have you done a search for a random jumble of letters to see if you get a result? If you do, that file (or files) should be deleted. (You should be able to load it again without a problem.)

You may have tried that already. If so, disregard.
