Printing from Sigil?
I am just finishing up a book that I created in large part in Sigil, which means I don't have an underlying document to print out for copy-editing. What's the best way to accomplish this? I seem to remember doing this one time in Calibre; is that a reasonable way? I could also copy the Sigil book chapter by chapter and paste it into Word, which has the advantage that I can then apply 1.5 spacing, making it easier to spot errors.
Or is there a better alternative that I'm overlooking? Thanks! |

Do you edit it yourself or do you work with an editor? Word has the advantage of very good editing tools. But since you already made the epub, that would mean extra effort. I would ordinary expect to first using word for the word processing and editing power of it and then making the epub.
If you do the editing yourself (or with a printout), why don't you just read the epub (or mobi)? Most readers have annotation functions you could use. It would be exactly as much work as working with a print-out (if we are talking copy-editing. For heavy editing I think using word would work better). Finally if you prefer a print copy, I think you can print the epub directly from the calibre viewer. Or you can use prince or calibre to produce a pdf and print that. |

Well, in my addon for Word there is an option to import an ePUB into Word.

In addition to printing an ebook as a PDF, calibre can also convert to DOCX.

Thanks, all!
It proved to be a non-issue. I opened the epub in Sigil Book View (first time I've used that in months), swiped the chapters (fortunately there were only four), pasted them into Word, went to 1.5 spacing, and printed the doc. (I use Word 2000, so Toxaris's tools are a bridge too far for me.) |
