BackDoorLock hack - prevents silent updates

So... my PW2 silently updated to 5.6.1.0.6...... managed to get KUAL again with 5.6.x hotfix, and installed BackdoorLock (tried .bin with MRPI first, but didn't work, so installed it via KUAL). I lock the back door, but when I check lock state, I get an Unlocked status. Any thoughts? I can't seem to find anything newer on this issue.

@Darkuul: You probably need to update the JB & KUAL for things to work properly on FW 5.6.x

The JB part should be taken care of by the hotfix, so that leaves KUAL.

That definitely did the trick, NiLuJe, KUAL update and reboot, and now I'm finally able to do a Backdoor Lock. Thanks a lot!

It seems that BDL is not working on the new firmwares. I had it locked, and just got the new update I had the latest version of BDL, everything was up to date. Luckily the jailbreak survives.

Do you mean your K4 or your PW2?

Chances are it was the PW2 -- since a K4 would probably have been updated long ago.

Also, the BackDoorLock had to be updated several times for new firmwares circa PW2 and stuff -- depending on the version of BackDoorLock and the previous firmware, this might not have been unexpected.

So -- which firmware was it updated from, and how recently was BackDoorLock installed?

Ah, good point. Although IIRC I checked the update patches and none of them touched those areas...

It happened with pw2. I had bdl 12 with firmware 5.6.1.0.6(last one before 5.6.2.1).

I had a similar problem. My Kindle PW2 was on 5.6.1.0.2 with the Back Door Lock in a locked state, yet somehow my Kindle still did a silent update to 5.6.2.1. Luckily this didn't break the jailbreak, or I would have been quite bummed. Just had to reinstall my screensaver hack (actually the only reason I use my jailbreak).

Same issue here with latest backdoor lock and 5.6.X FW, just got silently updated from FW 5.6.1 to 5.6.2.1, (I've already removed .tmp.partial file few times before but just haven't thought it through) also no problems there I just needed to reinstall few hacks but the problem is that if there wil be some "JB cleaning" in next FW it could be fatal.

That should have been fixed in the most recent version posted of the Backdoor lock.
FW 5.6.1 was some time ago, perhaps prior to the fix to the Backdoor lock.

Also, check the trouble report dates - -
The problem report prior to yours was two months ago.
I think you just where not using the updated BDL.

I have the same version that's in first post of this Thread (I use Kual version backdoorlock_kual_12.zip and it shows v2.0) I even checked files and they are the same most of the dates are 19.12.2014.

Maybe the first post attachment never got updated.

I've checked that one, that's the same zip, even file dates are same...
