Waterstones is just rebranded OverDrive. But on the upside, it's cheaper to run and you make it sound like Waterstones does a good job.

Also, that brings me back to Kobo.

I seriously doubt Rakuten would kill Kobo so soon after buying OverDrive. One is being used to fund and justify the other, probably.

No, Google doesn't have all the catalog.
They are very weak on Indies.
But they make up for it with pirates and scams.

B&N has in the past been pretty good for (non-romance) Indies.

And yet, if you search B&N for free ebooks, and sort them newest to oldest, you will see quite a few that aren't in English. Perhaps they will sell some Spanish language ebooks in the US, but I don't think there will be large markets for German, French, Italian, Dutch, etc. Clearly someone thought it a good idea to market these freebies through the NOOK store. I wonder if they know something that B&N doesn't.

(Of course, the fact that I couldn't filter the search by language is just another symptom of B&N's website woes.)

Nook has a robust spanish language ebook section...

You are messing up Google books and Google play books.

And I don't care that much about indies. I can get them on other websites.
It's all about access to books from the mainstream authors / publishers.

And the nook HD tablet. I like it better than my 2 Kindle tablets, much nicer screen.

I suspect in 5 years Amazon will be the remaining ebook seller of note, with only Apple left to speak of.
