@invention13 : PeterT is correct. === === === To avoid confusion for the future, I ask to name the custom dictionaries with the actual language ISO codes, e.g.: dicthtml-bg.zip (Bulgarian monolingual) dicthtml-it-fr.zip (Italian -> French bilingual) Moreover, this way, we do not "imply" that the custom dictionary should replace exactly an official one, say dicthtml-de.zip, as the end user might want to replace a different official one, say dicthml-nl.zip. |

Thanks. I just figured that out ( I'm a bit new to this ). This is definitely something for kobo to fix. Once I installed it, it worked reasonably well.

A question on custom dictionary: I installed the swedish-english dictionary and it seemed to work pretty well. When I went to use the reader today, it behaved as if the dictionary wasn't there. I went into the settings->languages->dictionarys menu and tried to load it and it opened up the wireless to search for an update. I'm sort of curious what happened to the dictionary - has this happened to anyone else?

Re sync: not knowingly. I am going to load the dictionary again and just make sure I don't sync it. I might have done it from the reader - I never use the pc software.

It might have done the daily auto sync. There is an option in the settings to turn this off. Sorry, I can't remember exactly where it is. Maybe the WiFi settings.

I turned off the auto sync. I put the dictionary back and still can't install it. I get this 'dictionary download pending - sync to install'. It looks like I'll have to sync it, only to blow it away and replace it. |

Edit, I found that all my dictionaries were stored on the SD-card so now it works! :-) Last edited by Number9; 07-23-2015 at 11:35 AM.

-copy the file "dicthtml-en-vi_mab en de.zip" to .kobo\dict, and rename it to "dicthtml-en-fr.zip".

Modified the first post: the English->German dictionary was incorrectly listed as "German->English".

If you refer to my 07-07-2015 06:24 AM post above, it was just an example to illustrate the usage of ISO language codes. I have never seen a Bulgarian dictionary, sorry. |

Hi, I assume no error/warning is printed on the console when you run penelope3.py . Try outputting to CSV (`--output-csv` instead of `--output-kobo`), open the file with a text editor, and see if the last letter is missing. If so, it is a parsing problem in penelope. If possible, please email me the input dictionary, I will have a look. If not, I guess it is a problem of the Kobo firmware. |
