Case suggestions for Paperwhite 3? thx

Cases for the PW1 AND PW2 will work with the PW3, so you might want to review threads discussing these.

That being said, the official Amazon case is very good, but does add quite a bit of weight. In addition to the Amazon case, I also have a Fintie Blade X1 case--which is my favorite. A little lighter than the official Amazon case, but still provides good protection.

I'm looking at the map style cases. It seems to me like Moko and Omoton and Fintie are basically selling the exact same covers practically. Is that true? Are they just rebranding something made in China and selling it as their own?

I can only go by the Voyage cases, sorry, but Moko and Omoton seem to cover top, sides and part of the bottom. Those cases are a bugger to get off, whereas Fintie only cover the sides, and are lighter and easier to get off.

I have Omoton and Fintie for the Voyage and Moko for my Fire, that does only cover the sides though.

They don't seem to be the same to me.

I'm rather fond of the Inateck Paperwhite cases, and they fit the PW3 as well. I reviewed one a couple of months ago for TeleRead. Most of the advantages of the Amazon case but a bit lighter and lots less expensive. A PITA to get off, though, if that's important to you.

I bought a Moko for my Voyage. The first thing I had to do was get out my pocket knife and whittle on the case. It totally covered the light that turns green when it's charged. I rather like to know when it's charge. And, getting the Voyage out of the case requires using something, preferably wooden, as a lever. I can't get the Voyage out with just my fingers. Of course, the case for the PW might be totally different.

For my Paperwhite I use the Kindle case. I'm old and decrepit but the extra ounce doesn't seem to bother me much. The Kindle case is easy for me to hold when I'm reading and provides good protection.

I agree they all look the same, for the Voyage the Finte case is completely different. We have that Moko case in the UK but we can't get Omoton, my Omoton case was sent by a friend from the US.

I am also searching for a case for my new Paperwhite, but don't want one with leather or leather imitation because I just don't like the feel of it . Also would prefer clip in fastening and not by rubber bands which for example caseable uses (see attachment). I couldn't find such a case but if someone knows one I would love to hear about it.

My Kindle Paperwhite case that isn't leather, doesn't feel like leather. It feels like plastic. I've never bought a leather case for a Kindle so I don't know if they feel like plastic, too. I wish I could get a case exactly like the Paperwhite case for my Voyage. It's easy to hold, functions, is durable and has a long life.

I bought a leather case for my Kindle Basic (7th gen) from Etsy. It is (a) heavy, (b) smells like leather (both good and bad), (c) bulky, (d) stiff and (e) expensive. Ultimately it made me realize that plastic cases are better than leather for Kindles.

For both the basic and the paperwhite I use Amazon's official case. For the voyage I use a nice faux-leather third party case (think it's Fintie).
