Huh? Okay, are you saying this a new thing? I haven't been following the calibre threads so much lately. It does what I need, so I haven't really keep track of a lot of the features. I still haven't taken the time to learn about virtual libraries yet, either.

It won't remove the DRM from audio books, only ebooks, as far as I'm aware.

The Kind Worth Killing, by Peter Swanson, is currently $1.99 at Amazon, which entitles you to the corresponding Audible edition for only $3.47.

I listened to this one earlier in the year. It's an enjoyable, twisty thriller:

You have to call Travelzoo if you're already an Audible member; tubemonkey gave the phone number: 1-877-665-0000. But it says Monday to Friday, and a limited number of free credits, so they may be gone.

They asked for my name and e-mail address, and in a couple of hours sent me a code for the credit. I haven't tried to apply it yet to my Audible account, though.

There was a discussion of this back on 6-5-15, at about message #543.

I think that the person who made the post prior to this one of mine was right--it's to get the specials.

But, IMHO, you shouldn't dismiss that as being trivial. Here are some of the specials that you get access to:
1. All Whispersync deals.
2. All Audible daily deals--that's 365 a year!
3. Promotions such as the Buy 4, Get $10 (credit) deal.
4. Credits ($10 usually, if not always) from companies like Avis and Hertz.

The ListenerLight membership is only $10 a year. You can easily save that much by taking advantage, just one time, one of the first two specials above. And, compare the price to that of the Gold(?) plan, which is $180 per year.

But, in the end, it depends upon your particular needs and buying patterns as to whether or not the L.L. plan is right for you.

Tomorrowland: Our Journey from Science Fiction to Science Fact, by Steven Kotler. Was a Kindle Daily Deal yesterday; it's still good today.

The ebook is $1.99, the Audible narration is only $0.99. Total for the whole deal: $2.98.

The ebook's 308 pages long, which results in an audio length of just short of 9 hours.

All in all, this is one of the best Whispersync deals that I've run across.

I don't have the Listener Light plan and I still get all four of the above deals. The main advantage of the LL plan is to keep the credits you still have. If you cancel without getting the LL plan, you'll lose those credits.
