It certainly looks warm there!

I want to go bike riding when I get back home, but I'll pass on doing it Tour de France style. The only spandex will be in my underwear. I don't want to risk tempting or corrupting the young ladies in the neighborhood.

It is!
The atmosphere is great, though. It was very quiet in the store today. We live near the Dom Tower, so tomorrow they cycle by even closer than today.

Didn't look quite as warm today when I watched it. Seemed to be a lot of rain as well.

When they started it was about 28C, when they arrived it was 18C.

They didn't come by our house, my sister and father went to the Dom Square to watch. I'm feeling a bit under the weather so I stayed at home and watched it all on tv. Shortly after they left it started to get cloudy and it got very windy, so the festivities died down quickly.

Several years ago I was walking on the sidewalk in a neighboring town when I suddenly heard someone call my name. I looked around but didn't see anyone I recognized -- just a few people walking on the sidewalk and a couple of bicyclists on the road, approaching.

The bicyclists pulled to the side and one of them waved to me. It took me quite a while to realize that one of the cyclists was my brother. (I knew he was a serious cyclist, but I'd never seen him in his gear.)

He was wearing iridescent spandex shorts and a tee shirt; a streamlined, ventilated riding helmet; and bug-eyed, reflectorized goggles.

He looked like a giant fruit fly.

Enjoying the cooler weather. I'm about to go to craft store and I will be cycling a different route than I normally would, avoiding one of my least favourite bridges.

Later this afternoon I will be looking at things to do in Krakow, my sister and I booked a week away in September (suggestions are, of course, welcome).

In the last couple of years I've been good keeping track of what I've read on Goodreads and in a Google Drive spreadsheet. I've not been good with updating Calibre, which I'm doing now.

I just bought a used basket and put it on my bicycle, then lined the bottom with cardboard and a beach towel. Norton jumped out the first time I put him in, but he stayed in the second time and I took him for a short ride. He appeared to like it.

I suspect that soon the word "bike" will elicit the same rambunctious manic behavior that "swim" did when we had our pool and "walk" does now. That's his head in the lower left corner.

I hear music (think Wizard of Oz ... now think of the witch with the dog in the basket!) ....

Okay, now you need to make it a *wicker* basket!

PS I hope he stays still enough not to throw off your balance. That could be a problem, I would think.

You may remember that last year I posted pics of a large spider that had spun a web on our deck next to the hummingbird feeder - named Beatrice. Well, she left an egg sac, which we wondered if it would survive our harsh winter temps & snow/ice.

Well -- YES -- the daughter of Beatrice, named Beatrice Jr. -- or B2 -- has appeared on the deck and spun an enormous orb web hanging over the geranium pots. We sat on the deck and watched her construct the entire web without pause - approx. 3' in diameter, in around 30 minutes. I've got some pics of her, and am experimenting on lighting to get a good shot of the web. Too tired tonight to mess with photos, but will post some this weekend.

She has the same banded legs as her mom!

I was tempted, but most have a weight limit of only 13 pounds in addition to being too small for him!

Here's what's sitting outside my bedroom window even as we speak. A bird crashed into the window a couple of days ago. I wonder if it was aiming to eat my friend and missed.
