Missing "Book view" toolbar.
Hi.
I have the toolbar I expected in "code view", but no matter how I switch to "book view" the toolbar stays the same. I searched and found an earlier complaint about no "book view" toolbar, but that was for a very much earlier edition of Sigil. I am currently using version 0,87 So can anyone explain why that particular toolbar is missing, and hopefully how I can enable it please? Thanks. |

What were you expecting to appear when you went into book view?

Might need some screenshots to see exactly what you mean. My toolbar doesn't change at all between Code View and Book View (except that a few items get disabled/greyed out). The various toolbars can be added/removed via the standard "View->Toolbars" menu method, but there really should be no change in the visible toolbars when switching between BV and CV. The only thing that happens is that the inapplicable items become disabled (but still visible).
Are you perhaps talking about an undocked Preview widget that you've enlarged? If so ... it won't have any toolbars (close button). |

IMHO you should do very little editing in BV. The results may not be to your liking. Even fixing a single letter in BV can get frustrating at times. It depends on where the letter is in the paragraph. just toggle to CV and fix it there for less
![]() I use BV mostly as a locator tool. ![]() |

Nope, will not appear. That toolbar was never in Sigil. There were some ideas in integrating TinyMCE into Sigil quite a while back, but that did not go through due to various reasons.
The toolbar is as it was always. Some buttons were added, but no different toolbars between CV and BV. |

I haven't used Book View since Preview Pane came to live with us!
Among its other virtues, Preview Pane keeps me from temptation, to just fix that one little typo in Book View, a fix that couldn't POSSIBLY go wrong -- an assumption that, as Ducks points out, can sometimes be hazardous. |

![]() So hazardous that I had to create a saved set of REGEX S&R to attempt to mostly undo that mess . I also use the Preview pane (I keep it on an old 1024x768 monitor mounted in Portrait orientation above my main screen. My motto: I paid for it, why not use it ![]() |
