@truth1ness you can use the method described in post #83 on the mobile read forum [GUI Plugin] Marvin XD. It works well for transferring a few specific books at a time.

I always drag and drop my books to my various e-readers on my iPad. It always works. Trying to push them from Calibre always failed for me.
Simple is good. Seeing my results is good. Being able to use whichever reader I want is good. |

I keep my Calibre library in dropbox anyway, so I can download from dropbox in Marvin, or use the IOSRA plugin (I am still on IOS 8.2).

I have mine in dropbox also, but have more than 1000 books so I can't download from dropbox in Marvin directly. Any idea on how to tell Marvin to use the most recent 1000 files instead of the first 1000 files it sees?

I took Kovid's advice in another thread to use the Send To Device feature to send whatever books you want to a folder in your Dropbox. I have a column where I use stars to set my reading priority of books. I haven't done it yet, but I think you can then use the Reading List to automatically initiate a sync of a certain search (like all starred priority items). That's my next step.

Right now, the only thing that works for me is :
- start the content server that Calibre provides, - open Safari on the iPad, - go the right address, - select display by newest, - get the book, one by one, - and when Safari ask me if I want to open that book in another app, then I can select Marvin and have it transferred to my library on the iPad... It works, but it is slow and cumbersome ! I really would appreciate a better way to work from Calibre to Marvin and vice-versa... I'd be ready to pay for it ! Frankly the situation, right now, is not really enjoyable... |

In Marvin I can use Get Books, OPDS to connect to the Calibre content server.

What is the device that I need to remove to get rid of the "calibre, version 2.26.0
iOS reader applications: Unable to connect to iDevice" loop? The only plugin with "iOS" in it is "iOS reader applications (1.4.7.0.0) by Wulf C. Krueger" Should I remove that plugin? |

It's easy to get ebooks into Marvin without a third-party application. There's built-in Calibre server and Dropbox compatibility in Marvin. The point of the plugin is to be able to sync data back and forth through the Calibre interface, which this solution doesn't address.

Now I get an error saying Marvin XD requires that app.
The error comes up behind the Marvin logo, and I didn't see it. I kept opening Marvin, and then killing it, as I didn't see how to get past the logo, until I noticed a piece of that message peeking out behind the logo. |

So I removed Marvin XD.
