Voyage page numbers?

I have just bought a new Voyage and am wondering if its possible to get it to display page numbers as opposed to the location numbers and percentage its currently showing me? Thanks |

Yes--as long as the book has page numbers included. (Some don't.) To change the display--if you tap on screen where the location number is, the display should toggle between location number, page number, time to read in chapter, time to read in book, and completely blank. I've read reports here that some people find getting the information to change this way to be sporadic--I don't have any problems on my PaperWhite. The other way to change the information being displayed is to choose "Reading Progress" from the menu and select the information you want displayed there.

I spent months being irritated when a book didn't have pages numbers. Now, more ebooks have page numbers but I've found once I adjusted, I prefer having the location and the percentage read showing at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes it's simply a matter of what you're used to. I can remember converting number of pages read to a percentage so I could think, "Halfway." On the other hand, I've never used the "time remaining" business. It's simply not a relevant factor. Last edited by patrickt; 06-20-2015 at 07:06 AM. |

I think the longing for page numbers, exept for academicians who need to reference, is more a matter of comfort than anything else.

. My comment was for the benefit of others who may like page numbers and perhaps not be aware that Calibre generates them.

Probably for the same reason that people can look at a watch, and then immediately afterwards, not be able to tell you what time it is. They don't usually ask the watch "what time is it?" They ask it "am I late?" or "do I have time to finish this task first?". When reading a book, I ask "how far along am I?" or "how near is the end?", which is better answered by a percentage, than by an actual page number. |

Both the Loc # and the page # are accompanied by the percentage so you always have that as a reference. I'm just curious why someone would prefer the Loc # to the page #.

Loc is more specific than page is. I can point someone to a piece of text within a paragraph with a Loc #. I can't be nearly as accurate with page numbers. When e-books don't have a real concept of "page" in the same way a physical book does, calling some block of text a "page" doesn't really mean the same thing, especially when one page can be and usually is multiple screens worth of text.
