Even further, I have almost 30 TB storage (nas devices) with calibre as webserver running. I can always access that, and if there is no wifi I can tether my phone and connect it.

I was in WHSmith today and had a look at a display model. It had a card underneath with the price and specs, and it clearly said that it was expandable to 32Gb with MicroSD. It could have been hidden (the unit was fixed into a frame) but there didn't seem to be any slot.

I was a bit disappointed with it as demonstration, there were no books loaded, not even samples, so I could only step through the "take a tour" guide. The firmware was 3.15.0

There is no slot, only a faulty display card and box.
Without modifications, the memory is not expandable.

You could cut hole in case at internal sd card location ending opening your reader each time to exchange internal sd card. Then cover sd card access hole with adhesive tape.

After using my Glo HD for some time, I find it quite difficult to read PDFs even with Koreader. The texts are just too small( I use fit to content width in Koreader). I'm wondering whether I should sell it and go for H2O. But will that extra 0.8 inch make a large difference in reading PDFs? Thanks!

Why not remove the whole case and put some household plastic to cover it.. I hope u make a joke here ! Why would you re-open it if you have a 64 gig card inserted ??

I just got my Kobo Glo HD yesterday, and wouldn't use any of these small ebook readers for serious pdf use. I use an old Nook HD 8.9" for pdf's and even that is not 100% depending on the type of pdf file - regular books, ok, technical books like stuff on operating systems & software, not so much.

For epub & Calibre, I'm a happy camper.

Read it in landscape. I returned a Glo HD and got a used Aura HD. I much prefer it. I'm sure the extra size will make a significant difference for reading pdfs. And I like the external card slot.

Not a joke, a member of this fourm reported has done this to his Kobo Aura HD. He uses koreader and is always testing latest changes it and other community developed reader software.
