HDX strange readability issue at end of amazon samples

i get to the end of a sample book, and that final page which suggests you go to store and buy the full book is unreadable. its has big blocky shapes where the words should be. the entirely of the sample book is OK, up to this point. I know what it is supposed to say, as it's the same in every sample, but it's not readable. twiddling fonts/ font size makes no difference.

1st time it happened, I wrote it off as a specific book glitch.

then it happened again, and the end of a different book sample. So I ordered that same sample book to be delivered to my Kindle voyage as a test. And on the voyage that last page was fine, it was unreadable only on the KF HDX.

It's no big deal but I wonder if anyone else has come across it. I fear that explaining it to Amazon would prove tedious. I guess I'd need to somehow grab a screen shot of that final page and I don't know how to do that while still in the kindle reader app. ( and my only camera is the Kindle Fire, so I can't use that to photo itself ! )

ok thanks, I was not sure if that would work while the kindle reading app has full control but I will try it if no-one else chips in with " oh yes, that happened to me, & the explanation is... "
it's only on the "you have come to the end of your sample, now visit the store, buy the book ... " screen

I don't have a Fire myself, but I believe it should work with any app.

mixed results.
good news is :yes I go the screen shot photo trick to work,
but after re-downloading the same sample book and going to the last page, there was no corruption to photograph

still if it happens again, I know how to grab a picture now.

I think that is what messed up, and changed into strange blocks

i have a picture now. I rechecked a last page of a sample and the distortion was back. I deleted it & re-downloaded from cloud and it was gone again...
the kindle fire screenshot is a .png though so bear with me while I figure how to upload it...

update: I think I have a way to reproduce this. I thought abck through what I'd done on the tablet & this sequence seems reproducible:

download a sample and turn go to the final " before you go " page.
exit books via home button
load up candy crush
exit that game via home button , go back to books
open that book sample again , it should open at the previous "before you go" page ,
that last page is now corrupted again

I guess it is a fonts cache issue- a reboot of tablet will clear it. a delte + re=download of the book sample will also clear it

That sounds like a very plausible hypothesis. Might be worth reporting it to Amazon to see if they can fix it in a future release.

i could, but I'd be happier if others could reproduce it consistently, before making any fuss
Amazon may say that if a reboot always clears it then it's no big deal ( & it's not really)
that page should say
before you go, then the book title and the price...

I don't have enough android-fu to speculate further

I seen that! I end up looking the book up on Amazon buying that way! Amazon should give discount for extra work & Time! On my Amazon Phone!

and do you also play candy crush on your amazon phone ? I sill wonder if the last page of sample book bug is caused only by playing that, or if other apps can also cause it ?

i don't understand you- I have to be reading the sample book to see that distorted page. how can you be doing that with " no reading app on phone " ?
