That's fair enough. My problem was buying books that looked interesting and were on special offer.

I still haven't quite overcome that, but I am getting a bit better about it.

But the one thing a bog TBR does is allow one to wait for discounts for books that one does want. My average purchase price for this year is £0.93! And even ignoring the Fantasy Magazine back issues, it's only £1.52. For books that I really want to read - of the 62 non-back issue books I've bought this year, I've only got 15 unread - and 8 of those are later volumes in series where I haven't caught up yet.

On the whole, I'm doing OK.

I clawed my way back to parity yesterday, which feels pretty good, although I'm not sure it will last.

Special offers cause me to weaken all the time. As does family requests. I did buy 5 audiobooks during a special early this month. I am tempted, but have not purchased 3 ebooks.

I keep reminding myself that I managed to quit smoking years ago. I should be able to control ebook buying. Just need a good mindset for it.

My totals for the year:

24 books totaling $18.74 for an average of 78 cents each. Read 9.

1 Kobo Glo HD $97.88

Total spent in 2015 is $116.62. Budget set at $500 so still have $383 left. But still need to purchase a case for the Kobo. Also, there are 3 books on my TBR list being published later this year that I may buy if I can score a good deal.

Yes, I know... I ignored the title because I already have all the e-books. I'm just addicted to Middle-Earth

Still, this stuff was expensive enough to not buy books for some time, E or P

(These are probably the only paper books I'll buy. THOM-E isn't even available in e-book beyond book I and II.)

Happily, I never smoked, but otherwise, indeed I do, too. Don't ask me how much perfume I own. But I've always bought books and at least ebooks take up no space. Unlike perfume.

After the debacle in April with the 90% codes, I bought no ebooks in May. I'm going to have to dry out for a much longer time, but at least I'm back on the wagon.

90% codes are such a rare thing that I think a splurge when they're available is permissible.
