Thx, next time I won't let it go. Didn't know that Paypal might also be involved in this kind of case.

I'm aware of the recent Glo HD release, but who knows, Kobo could also have two separate product lines, a premium one and a cheaper one, just like Amazon.

Hence the mention of the low-frills device. There is evidence that Kobo have a replacement for the Touch in the works. And that it would be a 6" device, resolution of 800x600 and with the same external dimensions as the Glo HD. And possibly no light. This was expected to be announced and released at the same time as the Glo HD. But, it wasn't and no-one knows whether it is still coming or not. Maybe they decided to postpone it until October. But, I don't expect to see another higher-end device this year.

Do people still need such an archaic device you described? Even if its cost would be around 70$, why on Earth not to add a little more money and pick a Glo HD?

Considering the next high-end model from Kobo, I'd like to see there a 6.8" screen with 300 ppi. I do see some fonts imperfections with 265 ppi, the fonts are just not enough smooth. And I wish Kobo could manage to hide the LEDs, like it's done in the Kindle Voyage.

I honestly don't know. Kobo obviously think it will. Or maybe that's why the haven't released the Touch 2 as the decided it wouldn't sell. But, I believe the current touch is still selling reasonably well.

As to the price, here in Australia, the current Touch us $99 and the Glo HD is $179. $80 is a significant amount for most people. If the Touch 2 is the same or less than the Touch, a lot of people couldn't justify it.

This is especially true if you're buying for children, and expecting the occasional break. If I were Kobo I'd pair this with a ruggedised case, perhaps with rubbery shock-absorbing corners.

That would be my next reader as well I appreciate the Glo HD, but I don't want a 6" anymore.
