A friend of mine over on Facebook asked for some suggestions for "music therapy" songs after a tough couple of weeks at work. He doesn't share my enthusiasm for Space/Electronic/Ambient music, but our tastes overlap enough that I was able to make at least on useful suggestion:

After posting the earlier video by The School, I came across another great song. In addition to the song, the video features an interesting combination of kinetic typography and the use of what looks like album cover styles from the 1960s.

In fact I have just ordered the Reading Too Much Into Things Like Everything CD from Amazon (includes immediate digital download) so I'm just giving it a first listen.

I'm glad to have introduced someone to a great new group. I purchased the album as a digital download, rather than buying it on CD. I prefer buying the CD when possible, but a digital download is okay as long as it is well encoded (with a fairly high bit rate) and the price is reasonable.

If you liked The School, you might like The Yearning (the group that led me to them). They did a wonderful version of "Gotta Pull Myself Together" (I posted it earlier in this thread), a song that I like due to the version by The Nolans. Unlike the Nolans' version (which as an 1980s sound to it), The Yearning gives the song a very 1960s Wall-Of-Sound sound that works well for the song. Their videos have a very retro look to them (one of them looks like it could have been from a 1960s British television broadcast).

One more nice song I happened up and recently listened to once again:

"Up Past the Nursery" by Suuns.

Heard this on an episode of The Blacklist and found it online. It has a strange haunting quality that I really quite like.
