No offense taken, I just wondered if I did write something funny without realizing it due to my less than perfect English.

It was not even a dummy model to be honest, in my opinion it was even more ridiculous than that. The H2O was up and running, but not configured so I could not see more than the "choose your wifi" page, and apparently it was not possible for them to configure it. I was really disappointed, I wanted to see the kobo firmware, the books, the backlight (my precedent reader was a bebook mini), the whole thing... The only good that visit did was that seeing the size of the device made me realize it's not as "giant" as some reviews let me believe.

edit : So a better word in my previous post had been non-configured device instead of non-working. My apologies for not being clearer.

I had exactly the same experience almost three years ago in Best Buy in USA. I wanted to buy Kobo Mini.
I was visiting USA for three months and once a week I stopped at local Best Buy to see what they had for sale.
I complained repeatedly to personnel and supervisors about non-functional device - begging to be connected. It was left that way.

After I returned I had an exchange of personal messages with somebody who claimed that he worked at Kobo. He promised he would forward my colorful rants to people that could do something about missing demonstration mode AND the inescapable begging of the new devices to be connected.

Obviously, nothing was done and I see the same complaint 30 months later.

Eh, I am almost your neighbour, I do understand the language problems I'm from The Netherlands.
So they show models,without even try to bother to pass it behind the factory reset.. like the tv example I said, you want to see it on..you want to play with the settings.
Like turning on a pc to see "insert your windows dvd for first installation" message on your screen.
The bebook mini.. I still have one with a stuck screen.
So no, you didn't say anything wrong, just make me smile that you did the trip to see it and just stumble into a non working device... And no one offered you to finish the installation ??? That is so wrong !
Sorry for my twisted humor.. I know this same would happen to me when I would go to something like that... I had.. I wanted once to see a beautiful audio machine with blu-ray player.
The whole scene was installed, great screen.. but the guy has inserted the blu-ray disc the other way around and the device does't want to eject it

The Glo HD is my first ereader. I find the illumination to be about 90-95% perfect. It has a yellowish tinge in daylight conditions, and when the comfortlight is needed, it has a bluish tinge due to the LEDs.

IMO, illumination problems are exaggerated - go enjoy your book :P And unless you know about exposure, photographs to reproduce the issue are not a reliable method. You need to see it using your eyes.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the GLO HD, even without the 20% discount. I bought my (old) GLO last year, on a whim since it was on sale, and now I prefer it over my kindles. My eyes bother me and I decided that given the hours that I read per day, I should have the best eink screen out there, provided that it is not prohibitively expensive. I enjoy the lit-screen as it is great for porting around since I don't have to depend on external lighting.

One can only hope that since they ship intl ground, it will not trigger the customs guys :-)

Still that way now. I went into Futur... Best Buy a week ago to get the Glo HD but I wanted to check out the models they had on display. All the Kobos were in need of being set up. Which reminds me I need to fill out their survey and tell them what a piss poor job they are doing.

Other than that I've been using my new Glo HD and love it. I've gone through 3 books in the last week instead of getting yard work done on my vacation

After another week of using Glo HD I'm getting really frustrated with lags and glitches. The worst one is highlighting words with long press to look up the word in the dictionary. Most of the time it does something else, i.e. page turn, bringing up menu, anything but highlighting/selecting word I'm touching. And even if it does what I'm trying to do it literally takes 3-4 seconds. Does H2O have the same issue? If it doesn't suffer from the same "feature" I'll try to return Glo HD and get H2O instead. Any suggestions?

Yes, the current FW on the HD Glo is dismal. However, I expect it will improve with updates. Try tapping pages faster (too fast to read) and you will see that the device is capable of much faster turns. But the FW is dreadful. I returned my HD Glo, partly because of the FW, and partly because I don't need another 6" generic e-reader.

I cannot speak for the H2O, but I can tell you the same FW is faster on the Aura HD.

Yes, the H20 has the same issues with inaccuracy, but it doesn't take as long as 3-4 seconds to activate the menu. The latest firmware has made page turns slower, as others have mentioned. I have found to highlight a single word to bring up the dictionary, you need to press slightly above the word and then it works fine so I have no issues. Highlighting sentences is faster now with the newest firmware, but it is still not done as seamlessly as on other brands.

Kindles are faster and more accurate in general, if you've never tried one. It may be the better device for you. I love the H20 for its screen which to me is perfect. I had a lot of problems seeing colors on kindle screens and returned quite a few of them. They were all very uneven for me. You may not have this issue though and a kindle may be a better choice for you.

Edited to say that I see you do own a kindle. So I guess you know some of this already then. To sum up, an H20 isn't going to solve the issues you're having. I can't speak as to how different it performs to the Aura HD, but it sounds similar, from what you've sad.
