I had the touch screen bug happen again. So it's not fixed. I know know what activates it. Using the swipe on the keyboard to type with cause the touch screen to go crazy. I uninstall and reinstall Google Keyboard which rebooted the tablet when I uninstalled it. So might be time to try a different keyboard.

I wonder if someone could help me. My Nexus 2012 was running really slowly once in updated to lollipop, so I rooted using the teamwin recovery. I'm ready to try the latest lollipop update, but can't seem to do so. It downloads the update, and every time it tells me to reboot and install, it brings up the teamwin menu, and I have NO idea where to go from there.
I have looked for help, and I find a lot of conflicting information on how it should be done. Can someone here please just point me in the direction of the proper way to go about getting my tablet upgraded? I don't mind losing root, I just don't know which process to follow. Thanks! |

Not sure where the bug is but the touchwiz's menu has the reboot as the 1st selection & the select file to install is the 2nd selection. So when the recovery reboots, it just does the 1st selection & only reboots without trying to install the selected file. Anyway, just do the install manually by selection as if something was broken which something is; sometimes the install of a new recovery also does the same thing if the "auto boot" wasn't unchecked. |

Thanks, I had the same problem today after installation of 5.1.1. I did as you advised - launched appmgr, stopped Google Play, went back and it opened fine! |

If it happens again you have to uninstall Google Play and Google Play Services and let them download and reinstall themselves. It can take over an hour but this seems to have worked for me. I haven't had anymore problems after I did that.

Thanks, I know how to force stop, but how do you uninstall them? When I go to the app mgr and then to Google Play, my only option is to force stop, or uninstall latest update - is that what you mean?

Uninstall latest updates is the button you want.

Happy to help! I almost did a factory reset before I tried the uninstalling and it worked. I also did it for the Google Keyboard as I have been having touch screen issues since 5.1 and while it crashed the tablet once it rebooted I reinstalled the keyboard and so far so good no more weird touch screen. I've never had any issues before 5.1

Okay I just wiped the system cache on my N7. Kinda scary to do but It's now running faster and smooth. I hope this fixes the touchscreen and Google Play problem. It does seem like a new tablet now.

I'm new to phones. I have a Nexus 5. When Android 5 came out I got it fairly soon. I had read forums with advice on installing so I backed up my contacts and apps, updated, and then did a factory restore. I've gone happily through 5.0, 5.0.1, and now 5.1.
When I restored my data I lost one contact and had to reinstall two apps that I'd bought and needed keycodes entered. I don't have hundreds of apps and it just wasn't a big deal. |

This server error is really getting old. I have to reinstall Google Play daily now.
