After that, select with your finger all the screen; you'll have something like:

Select for that zone the command (DOUBLE TAP): "Zoom to column". Press the "Apply" buttom.

After that, select the right part of the screen; you'll have something like:

Select for that zone the command (TWO FINGERS TAP): "Scroll to next page start". Press the "Apply" buttom.

Finally select the left part of the screen; you'll have something like:

Select for that zone the command (TWO FINGERS TAP): "Scroll to prev. page start". Press the "Apply" buttom.

That's all. After that you'll be able to read any pdf/djvu files (with or without columns) flawlessly.

I don't see where you said my pdf worked, so I assumed you didn't try it. I always get things wrong when I assume.

I didn't realize that tap zones don't work at all until you set them. You can't even tap in the middle to get the menu by default. Every app should have reasonable defaults set. I cleared data in the app and see this when I choose tap zones from the menu

The zoom to content mode in koreader is exactly what I'm looking for, it's like the automatic mode in EBookDroid except thatEBookDroid keeps changing the background size which is really annoying. koreader keeps a constant background size.

Anyways, koreader seems exactly what I need, minus a few bugs.

It's not in Google Play. You have to manually download the apk from github.

Please, read again the post #12 of this thread. Perhaps you won't read my "EDIT:" notes where I posted two screenshots of your pdf on my tablet. The screenshots belong to the first column of the second page in portrait mode. I could read perfectly your .pdf except for the issue with the second column of the first page where due to the tag "PHYSIOLOGY" I had to set the wiew manually (the app takes the tag as part of the column and so it doesn't remove the white right margin so the text is not so big as it should). All others pages/columns can be read perfectly after "Zoom to column".

Just tap on your right/left of the screen to scroll down/up. When the app reaches the end of the page, a new tap on the right of the screen will go to the next page. If you read in portrait mode, EbookDroid will show you the full page. Don't use "Automatic". Remember to change pages or to scroll down, you only need to tap on the right. Belive me, Koreader does nothing compared with EbookDroid; you just need to take some time in order to learn how to use it. Maybe this tutorial can help you a bit with that task:

This is great but its not what I want. I understand it's what you want. Per the question, I want a full page view with the margins removed, no vertical scrolling. Koreader does this.

And EBookDroid too. How do you read? In landcape mode? In landscape mode you can't have a full page wiew with margins removed (you can have a full page but with margins if not the app can't maintain the proportions of the page). In portrait mode you can have a full page view without left and right margins and maybe without top and bottom margins (the app needs to maintain the proportion of the page and to fit it to your tablet). Suppose you have a page very very long; if you want all the page on the screen, then to maintain proportions the app will have to show margins at left and right; if you don't want left and right margins, then the full page won't be able to be showed. Did you the try of reading a pdf with legal size on Koreader? I'd like to see a screenshot of that pdf so all of us we can watch how Koreader shows the full page without margins.

In the first case, when you tap on the right, go to next page; in the second case, when you tap on the right the book scrolls down. It's a pitty that doesn't work for you.

That was where I replied to you saying that you tried my pdf. My original reply to your post #12 was my post #14 at 12:39 - before your edit. You can see in the reply where I quoted you that your edit is not there. Maybe YOU should read carefully.

"What no reflow?" - That could be part of the reason "Koreader does a great deal compared with EbookDroid", amongst a number of things, Koreader does have Reflow. Koreader's builtin OCR scanning of PDF files makes possible text and page formatting that, is not possible with PDF readers that do not have something similar. (Koreader is not the only reader that has this reflow capability.)

Koreader is much more limited, as to notetaking, compared to your EbookDroid, though. It does have an "EverNote" plugin.

There is no commercial version of Koreader.

Koreader's OPDS support is very handy and you are the one who selects or enters the URLs for the online OPDS catalogs, you want to access. There is no Koreader server connection required to use Koreader.

Except for freehand drawing on documents, I am not sure there is anything that EbookDroid can do that Koreader can't do also.

There are many PDF reading Android apps, not just these two, Which one has the features and strengths that an individual will want, is mostly a matter of personal preference.
