You mean the bright spot that's still showing when he gets his finger in front of the screen? Fingers don't get stuck pixels. (And neither do e-ink screens.)

That one is obviously a defect in that particular video. Maybe a spot on the lens, I don't know.

I trust this Nate dude.

Thanks Nate,

You seem to be the only reviewer around who takes serious notice of things like the two-toned Aura HD lighting, the scratches and terrible frontlight of the flatscreen Aura (I mean, HELLO??? Is everybody else living in some fantasy world?) and my trust in you has pretty much guaranteed I will not be getting this.
LOVE Kobo though, ive spent about a month getting the perfect fonts and book conversion options etc, and my Aura H2O is the best thing that’s ever happened to me since Methadone.

Hooraayyy!

Just above the a.. the devices don't have dead pixels, but some of them do have a "hole" in the layer of the screen where the back light pops trough, but in case of that,it should have been more or less brighten when you move the slider, with the intensity of the light.
My previous Glo has 2 and when you noticed it,they seems in your mind to be bigger and bigger.
So it was a problem that I had to in the normal Glo, so the first thing I do is put it at maximum and watch if I can see one.
From the 5 Glo's I had, 2 of them have the "dead spots".
(No I am not rich, but I ordered two, one for me and one for my girlfriend but the website made a double shipment so sended four, two of them had the problem so that are the ones I sended back..Later I ordered a third one for travel, vacation, things like that.. )

I think it's a dead spot on the cam,or indeed, dust, but it does looks the same way as my 2 defective had..
If you see at 1.21 and further you notice that the spot is on his hand, and not on the device, so definitively something on the camera lens.

Ha, just noticed what you meant by fingers don't get stuck pixels, the bright spot is still there when his finger moves over it.

Sorry for poor camerawork but this should give you an idea. The page margins can even go one level smaller than this but when I took the picture the shadows from the bezel made it look like the text fell off the sides of the screen. Personally I prefer page margins to be bigger than this.

N.B. I do have various Kobo Patches installed so I'm not 100% sure whether an out-of-the-box Kobo would display kepubs exactly like this. The pic is from a sideloaded calibre-created kepub.

It's great that it's not the device as I'm considering getting it.

Those who own the Kobo Glo HD, do you notice any white dots/spots/defective pixel that stays on the screen?

I don't have any defective pixels on my Glo HD either, it's a beautiful screen. I've also never seen a bad pixel on any ereader I've ever had, and that's including 3 Kobo Glos. I'd return it for an exchange if I ever did have a bad pixel, it would drive me nuts.

I wouldn't say extremely fast but it is faster. I find myself having to revise my review.

Thank you. That's a bit extreme actually. It's possible to add a little margin on all sides, right? (without modifying your ebooks). You don't need to take a picture, I'll take your word. Thx.
