Yes, it will fall off the edge of the screen as you use other things. But, dismissing those will bring it back. Which tiles are on the home screen comes from the database. It should be possible to add a trigger into the database to keep the tile on the home screen.

I just found a feature by accident that is either new -- or new to me. When I vertically drag my finger up and down on the very left edge of the Glo's screen, it changes the brightness level. Very convenient. EDIT: I find it's right there in the manual ... had I ever bothered to read it. Last edited by rcentros; 05-11-2015 at 12:16 AM.

The hypthenation (sorry don't have a spell checker) isn't that good, it breaks words sometimes at strange places while there is enough space for the whole word to fit. Offcourse it was during night when the best example occurs and I can't find it back, but I hope there will be a patch to turn it off in the future, better to move the whole word to the next line then make it rather look stupid, I hope to find a next example and then make a screenshot of it. I have the patch for the light. I can't remember exactly of this was from the beginning, there was something wrong, but had a minor stroke so can't remember exactly what it was. But 57% is in it twice and 58 is gone (maybe it is more in the sequence ). Same with 28, it is there twice and then jumps to 30. Wasn't that before, and if yes, it still isn't fixed ? Also (i have added the LeanAndMean=false to [Feature Settings] )when u use the sliders like the brightness one,you see the previous circle still ghosting on the line The move your finger on the bezel and change the light is now working with a delay, it looks like it doesn't work the first time... hi everyone my kobo updated from 3.12.1 to 3.15 ( device did it itslef I didnt do anything ) and i sync it manually ( i disabled this function because of custom dictionaries before ) now in setting --> Device information it is 3.15 --------------------------------------------------------------- there is no chess anymore in beta features but last night before update i played it and its icon is on Nickle when I run it its work! is there anyway to bring it again to beta features ? Im afraid factory reset to vanish this icon and I loose it another wonder is my custom dictionaries do not change after manual sync ( that would happend in 3.12.1 ) |

It was added somewhere around 3.11 - promoted as better one hand reading. It was an idea on our wishlist here called "horizontal tap regions". Some readers preference was to have top region go forward instead of back and bottom opposite. When suggesting it, I only wrote it the way I wished so I kind of blew it there. Hopefully these people won't have to wait the 3 or 4 years I waited. After using this style tapping, I couldn't possibly go back without a headache.

Does 3.15 support ePub 3? I haven't yet got any books in that format that I could test it with. |

Yes, it does. Kobobooks even sells ePub 3.0. Never seen 3.0.1 though.

Thanks Gerge. Yes, I've seen the 3.0 format mentioned on the Kobo store site, but hadn't bought any because I didn't know if I'd be able to read them.

A few people have asked, so for the record, I have been running 3.15 on a Mini for about a week now, and I'm happy.

The ISBN metadata tag is present in the content.opf file. Code: <dc:identifier opf:scheme="ISBN">9789044345575</dc:identifier> Language File Size File Format: EPUB is all I get. Edit/Update. The database is not updated. Previous books don't show the ISBN number. If books are added after the fw 3.15.0 updated the "bookid" is displayed, which is not the ISBN number. Code: <dc:identifier xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" id="bookid">urn:uuid:0558FF9D-675E-48CC-89D8-7776E337DF17</dc:identifier> Code: <dc:identifier xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:opf="http://www.idpf.org/2007/opf" opf:scheme="ISBN">9780425259658</dc:identifier> If publishers also use the ISBN as unique identifier it usually looks like: Code: <dc:identifier id="BookId" opf:scheme="ISBN">123456789X</dc:identifier> It should not scan for "BookID" to retrieve the ISBN but for "opf:scheme="ISBN". Sure, I understand why the BookID is added to the database to identify books but is should also scan for "opf:scheme="ISBN" and add the output to the database and use it on the book details page. previous firmware versions would display the ISBN, publisher, and date if there was one in the database, they just didn't put it into the database when the book was sideloaded.

The random pinch-to-zoom effect is irritating me. I already turned off that feature in the settings but I still end up resizing fonts instead of adjusting the front light with the two-finger swipe. Turning it on and then off again doesn't do anything. Does anybody else experience this? If not, can anybody help me out with this issue?

I was hoping that they would let us adjust the contrasts when reading PDFs, so that the text would appear darker, just like what one may do on Kindles. I guess I will have to wait till the next update for this feature to be added.

Is anyone having trouble highlighting? While it's faster now to highlight, so many times when I click highlight, it doesn't work now. Frustrating. Hmmm I tried again and I can't get it to highlight anything now.. Last edited by sparklemotion; 05-13-2015 at 11:46 AM. |
