Same here in Netherlands, most of the big shops do not charge you for the return sending, with the Aura HD I heard about problems with the light coming trough the back layer that looks like dead pixels,so I ordered 2 and take the one without the "dead pixels" and sended the other one back.
With a credit (master) card you also have an buyer protection/insurance for 6 months as an adittional term on the warranty.
Also with all the big shops,if you once buyed something, you can pay after you received the items (unless you are on the register of non paying customers or in deep debts) and when you return it, it suspends your pay obligation.
You can return it without any reason given.
You must leave the package undamaged, unless it is in that blister thing that you can't open without cutting it,you may send that back with the damaged blister because it is their choise to pack it in.
During the warrantee time, the shop that sold it to you is responsible for repairs.
Only exclusion are things for hygiene reasons.. fill in yourself what that means

Yesterday I ordered a Glo HD from Indigo. Taking advantage of the 20% off Visa Checkout promotion and strong US dollar the final cost with shipping came to US$97.88.

What the heck, I ordered it. The site didn't really indicate if prices were CAD or USD but I'm hoping they were CAD -- that would put the final price with shipping under $100 USD. I like that price. Delivery end of May.

The bill from Chapters will be in CAD, but when you see the amount taken from your bank account, it should correctly be under $100 USD then.

It's back, I just used it for the Glo HD & sleep cover. Delivery (to U.S.) not until 28 May.

Thanks to OP for posting this little tidbit!

You are making it mighty hard for me to resist...so far I'm holding out. One reason I want to wait for my birthday--I got my Aura HD for my birthday last year--seems like I should get at least a year's use out if before I get another reader...On the other hand, if I wait until July then get the Glo HD and love it, I'll be kicking myself for not picking one up sooner.

Hi guys

Excuse me if this somehow out of topic.

I'd like to pick up an Ebook reader either Glo HD or Kindle Voyage.
As It turned out that LCD starts giving eye strains. In addition, I want to read couple of books with many graphs. Rather than printing the books, I decided to go with cheaper choice in the long term (trying to justify ~$200+ for a limited device with a monochrome screen! )

  • Which one would you recommend in terms of durability/quality?
  • Unfortunately, the device I am picking I won't be able to return.
How easy would it be to read PDF books (without using tools such as"k2pdfopt")?
  • Do you think (clear/anti-glare) screen protector is necessary?
  • Could you comment about using Pocket with Ereaders?

I can't tell from the pictures if the black is really black or just dark grey for these Ereader, so going to take my risk here.

Thanks in advance.

It hurts so much that Indigo does not ship to Poland while it does to Germany, France and many other European countries..

Does anyone know if I can take advantage of the Indigo visa checkout offer for shipping to the UK?

Yeah, at that price, it's hard to justify a Voyage. It's HALF the price! Maybe less?

I don't recommend a Voyage if you plan to read pdf. The software is locked down. You can't customize it in any way. The Kobos can run Koreader and other 'hacks' that will allow you to customize your pdf reading experience. Also its a lot cheaper for a very comparable screen, and the front-light is a tad better. On the negative, the Kobo is a bit slower and the software more clunky.

Thanks for the reply, I thought people were offended by the out-topic.

I have been holding my purchase for a while. Today, is the day I will decided which one to get.

My reasons to go with Voyge, as it got higher rates while Amazon's kindle seems (in my opinion) more durable with less QC issues than Kobo. I have read many reviews in which it seems that kindle is more reliable brand, yet I know Glo HD is a newer device and QC might have been improved. Anyhow, because either device I get I won't be able to send it back (going to get it shipped from another country).

For Glo HD, the software seems more opened, could upgrade SD card, cheaper, could increase the font weight. Not sure how epub 3 compared to kindles format, and also the backlight and weither Voyage would be easily jailbroken without breaking it apart

Regarding the PDF, in which way the software going to make a difference?
And do you guys convert pdf's into other ebook formats (for none novels)?

I know I flooded this reply with many questions, it's more or less about opening my thoughts.
