Yesterday, I finished reading The Witch with No Name, the 13th and final book in Kim Harrison's Hollows series. I had to wait to get a copy from the library because my local library didn't have a copy and the other libraries in the consortium won't send it out until it has been on their shelves for 6 months.

Now reading Death of a Hussy by M. C. Beaton, the 5th in her Hamish MacBeth mysteries set in the tiny Scottish village of Lochdubh.

I've recently finished #11, Death of a Nag. Not sure why I keep going with them because I do find the "reveals" a bit silly and too simplistic, but something keeps me coming back to them time and again.

I think I finally quit them about where Hampshire Nanny is. They just became a bit too much. OTOH, her Agatha Raisin series kept my interest a lot longer, and my DW still reads them.

And it was an enjoyable collection of his posts, eccentrically but enjoyably arranged in (near) alphabetical order or title.

Next I started on Lightspeed Magazine #60 for May 2015, which has a good selection of stories, and I'm still reading.

I also finished off three shorts by Darrell Bain that I bought long ago from Fictionwise: Cure for the Morning After, Unforseen Reward and Samantha. OK, but not worth what I paid for them, as they were around £1 each(!).

I am currently re-reading The Spirit Thief by Rachel Aaron. It is a well-written fun fantasy novel.

I kept reading them only because I like the characters who play them in the TV series, and could 'see' them clearly while reading the books.

I just finished reading National Security by Marc Cameron and No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. I really enjoyed them.

I am now reading my first Dean Koontz - The Watchers. I am 85% through but am not quite enjoying it. It seems a little contrived. Anyway, I shall keep an open mind until the end.

I suggest you don't read any more Koontz books except for Odd Thomas. He is read proof for many readers.

This quote alone is enough to keep me away from Koontz.

I'm a third of the way through "Hell Is Empty" by Craig Johnson, book number seven in the Walt Longmire series. This is 'my' first Longmire book and so far, not too bad. It's keeping my interest, and although not the deepest writing I've ever encountered, nor the most surprising plot, it's a pleasant read. It does feel as if I've dropped into the middle of a series though. I'm not champing at the bit to start on book #1 in the series but I'll most likely begin it ... some day.
