I was more thinking of it giving an overall impression of the voting population, rather than matching any individual's attributes to their individual votes.

I don't mind revealing that about myself.

Spoiler:
White, male, American, in my 60's, fairly highly educated with a PhD in engineering, very liberal relative to the average American, atheist, work in environmental engineering for the past 25 years, and with varied interests in fiction and non-fiction.
Lol.

Okay, here's mine.

Spoiler:
White, male, Canadian, in my 40's. I've got a BSc in computer science, although I'm a double-drop-out: architecture undergrad; geography masters. My IQ is North of 140. I play piano, and guitar. I am a socialist and read a pretty wide range of fiction. While my job title is SA (Solution Architect), I am more aptly described as an SA (Smart Ass.) I am incredibly easy going and laugh a lot.

OK, I've gone through the thread an tallied up the nominations. I've pit the list in the first post of this thread. Please check it to make sure your nominations are in here and in the right decade! Voting threads go up starting next weekend.

Hmm, my only experience with it is reading it as a book. Your the gatekeeper though so I won't have a entry for that decade. Nomination period is well past closed. Let the discussion and voting begin?

I'd nominated Lucky Jim (50's) and Crow Road (90's) - neither seem to have made the cut?

I noticed The Stranger that Spellbanisher nominated for 1941-1950. Is this the novel by Albert Camus? If so you probably won't need L'Étranger, my nomination for that decade as it's the same book.

If I've disallowed your nomination please feel free to post a substitute. I'll try to update the list to fix problems as problems are posted.

The survey thread is now up. If you'd like to add to the (anonymous) info about those who are going to vote in the voting threads, please submit an entry.

Was my post completely disallowed for some reason, or just missed? (Sun Surfer beat me for "And Then There Were None".)

My nominations are missing. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=101. I understand that The Devil's Dictionary is likely disqualified, but my other nine should still be valid...
