ISBN read for sideloaded books? This could be very worrying. What does it exactly do? If it reads ISBN metadata and sends to Kobo *to provide us with extra information*, I will be stripping all ISBN data tonight.

The bug saying I had 7' left to read last night in a sideloaded kepub (to the next chapter in fact - mentioned elsewhere) seems corrected : I now have 3.1 hours left, which seems more like it.

It displays the ISBN in the book details page. I have been using Calibre's KoboUtilities plugin to add the ISBN and publisher info for my sideloaded books to the database until now to get that feature.

Sorry, I misread you post. I don't remember seeing any evidence that Kobo send information about sideloaded books to their servers. And I believe Kobo have stated that privacy issues are one of the reasons they don't sync sideloaded books.

You could always change the ISBNs in all of your ebooks to the same one. Then Kobo will think you're reading the same book over and over and over again.
