Kovid just rewrote the pseudo-selectors code, and since it is new it might not cover everything yet. I am sure this will be fixed soon, in the meantime I guess you can use the old version.

Now with 2.25. I can' t convert this to MOBI: http://andreaskluth.org/2010/03/05/p...opean-dignity/

I can convert to AZW3, but still, MOBI is the default file format for Kindle in Calibre.

I even downgraded - 2.24 and 2.23, though I have to add, I didn't get back to 2.20.

Me cares. And most users, btw. Basically, I live in a belief system that default is king, and do not change it much. - The first problem is when I can convert the same file without error to AZW3, but not to MOBI (see below)

- The second problem is that images (tables, graphs) are unenjoyable in MOBI, but look great in AZW3

I think you are overestimating the value of defaults, whose purpose is to enforce the greatest common denominator. You'd be surprised how many people still have a Kindle Keyboard (and haven't upgraded the firmware on it). Usability is king.

Nice fancy words though.

Also, side note: I despise Macbooks, and this (deprecation of useful functionality) is only one of the many reasons. Great example.

In the real world, enforcing highfalutin standards regardless of what people actually need, is one reason Macs will never catch on... and why I doubt the calibre defaults will change just on your say so.

Hopefully the conversion bug can be fixed (not that it reflects badly on the format itself, simply because a bug only affects the legacy format).

I can' t convert this to MOBI: http://andreaskluth.org/2010/03/05/p...opean-dignity/ I can convert to AZW3, but still, MOBI is the default file format for Kindle in Calibre. I even downgraded - 2.24 and 2.23, though I have to add, I didn't get back to 2.20.

You'd be surprised how many people still have a Kindle Keyboard (and haven't upgraded the firmware on it). Usability is king. Nice fancy words though. Also, side note: I despise Macbooks, and this (deprecation of useful functionality) is only one of the many reasons. Great example. In the real world, enforcing highfalutin standards regardless of what people actually need, is one reason Macs will never catch on... and why I doubt the calibre defaults will change just on your say so. Hopefully the conversion bug can be fixed (not that it reflects badly on the format itself, simply because a bug only affects the legacy format).
