No I only have the old sleepcover from the Glo. I wasn't planning to buy the official Glo HD sleep cover but I might change my mind.
I take it you also have access to the Kindle Voyage. I noticed the specs show that the GLO HD is 8 pixels higher than the Voyage while the Voyage is 8 pixels wider. Can you see any difference in the aspect ratio the two devices, that is, is the GLO HD skinnier than the Voyage? Surprisingly there are about 3000 more pixels on the Voyage.

The Voyage screen is 1448x1072, exactly the same as the Glo HD. You can tell from the size of the screenshot image taken from a Voyage: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=24

For those in Australia, JB HiFi have the Glo HD on their site and are showing it as in some stores. See https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-...-black/648286/. But, apparently they have different version of the Glo HD! It seems to have an SD card slot and only 2GB of internal storage. I have attached a screenshot in case they fix it.

Well, goodread is a nadir among reviewers, and they are re-quoted everywhere because they seem to be the first to get their hands on new devices, and they don't need to think or use the device before posting so they get their reviews online immediately. And most Americans are kindle users, which is a reflection of the market.

The Italian reviewer is a kobo user, apparently mostly for pocket, plus he used the glo hd for 10 days before posting AND is savvy with a camera: his photos of the device are outstanding. I do understand Italian, and his review is very good, but it is the first Italian review I see on a reader that isn't just a reprise of goodread.

For years, whenever I was looking to buy a computer or an ereader, I've looked at German reviews: they are very professional about it.

For ereaders specifically, European readers are less biased for Kindle than Americans - again a reflection of the market.

I think they have just copy'd the normal Glo specifications.
For the Dutch people, Bol.com started with the covers for the Glo HD (from 14,95) and I found the reader itself:
http://www.bol.com/nl/p/kobo-glo-hd-...0000041424793/
Not available, no pre-order.
At the specifications there is: screen - capacitive .. nothing about i.r.
And they have a special external reading light for the Glo..

That's what I thought, but when I looked at the Glo specs they have, they didn't quite match, so it wasn't a simple copy-and-paste job. In any case, I found it amusing but it means my credit card is getting a little more work. I have also spent far to much there recently. The Aura H2O was just the beginning.

Puzzling... and it isn't just a copy/paste of the Glo specs (from JB's Glo page), as those are different.

Thanks for that, I was led astray but I don't know where the information outlining a 1440 x 1080 screen came from. Got to do some research, although it seems for square pixels this would be the right size. I guess the real screen may be 1.35:1 rather that 1.33:1. Do have the actual screen dimensions?

It's about 12 cm x 9 cm so it's 1.33:1.

Well my pending charge on my bank account kept changing days after the 20th. It will still stay as pending but the day always changed to the current date.

Except for today... where it's no longer listed as pending, but not listed as a completed transaction either. And yes, there's far more than the needed funds to cover it, so there's no chance it was a declined charge. I'm just curious at this point as to how they do it.

Unless my bank got tired of the forced holding pattern that kept the charge pending and they'll have to just put through a new charge when it's actually going to ship. That would make sense knowing that my bank has never kept pending charges like that without moving to the completed transactions the following day.

Why is irt most reviews are made by people who want to show eBooks on a Kobo as though they were using a Kindle? Show off a Kobo. Don't simulate Kindle settings,

From about 2:25 he lowers the voyage light and the color change from top to bottom is visible. It's subtle but its there. It would be a lot more noticeable if reading landscape. The kobo screen lacks the color difference at lower levels. The color appears entirely uniform. It does look brighter on one side than the other. Maybe thats an effect in the video. Apart from this the two lights are very comparable.
