When I watched that video I immediately thought that they just skipped the essential part of opening the device.

For those in Australia, JB HiFi have the Glo HD on their site and are showing it as in some stores. See https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-...-black/648286/. But, apparently they have different version of the Glo HD! It seems to have an SD card slot and only 2GB of internal storage. I have attached a screenshot in case they fix it.

The Italian reviewer is a kobo user, apparently mostly for pocket, plus he used the glo hd for 10 days before posting AND is savvy with a camera: his photos of the device are outstanding. I do understand Italian, and his review is very good, but it is the first Italian review I see on a reader that isn't just a reprise of goodread. For years, whenever I was looking to buy a computer or an ereader, I've looked at German reviews: they are very professional about it. For ereaders specifically, European readers are less biased for Kindle than Americans - again a reflection of the market. |

For the Dutch people, Bol.com started with the covers for the Glo HD (from 14,95) and I found the reader itself: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/kobo-glo-hd-...0000041424793/ Not available, no pre-order. At the specifications there is: screen - capacitive .. nothing about i.r. And they have a special external reading light for the Glo.. ![]() Last edited by Nick_1964; 04-23-2015 at 05:04 AM. |

That's what I thought, but when I looked at the Glo specs they have, they didn't quite match, so it wasn't a simple copy-and-paste job. In any case, I found it amusing but it means my credit card is getting a little more work. I have also spent far to much there recently. The Aura H2O was just the beginning.

Well my pending charge on my bank account kept changing days after the 20th. It will still stay as pending but the day always changed to the current date.
Except for today... where it's no longer listed as pending, but not listed as a completed transaction either. And yes, there's far more than the needed funds to cover it, so there's no chance it was a declined charge. I'm just curious at this point as to how they do it. Unless my bank got tired of the forced holding pattern that kept the charge pending and they'll have to just put through a new charge when it's actually going to ship. That would make sense knowing that my bank has never kept pending charges like that without moving to the completed transactions the following day. |

lolol.
Speak of the devil. Front light. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-H3Iy_dUqP4 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OAhWhunSU94 From about 2:25 he lowers the voyage light and the color change from top to bottom is visible. It's subtle but its there. It would be a lot more noticeable if reading landscape. The kobo screen lacks the color difference at lower levels. The color appears entirely uniform. It does look brighter on one side than the other. Maybe thats an effect in the video. Apart from this the two lights are very comparable. Last edited by Rizla; 04-23-2015 at 08:51 PM. |
