Hi, I'm turtle
recently bought eBookwise.
downloade something. allwright, but can't read Russian. I found that somebody posted I have to convert to .imp and transfer file using card reader. I've bought one at ebay, all-in one reader but it was wrong one NOT supports even no slot for my 64gig smartcard. If anybody knows which card reader/writer to use, Thanks! |

Hello Turtle, and welcome to the forum.
Yes, the EBW reads the imp format. There's information about the device on our wiki here: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/EBookwise-1150 and on imp software and conversion programs here: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/IMP_software Also take a look at the Fictionwise/Ebookwise section of the forum. You mention Russian. This suggests that you have been considering Book Designer for conversion to imp. You can find English instructions in this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11786 and more useful information on our wiki: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Book_Designer There's a link to the wiki at the very top of this page, towards the left. It's very useful, I think. Also check out our free book uploads: click on "ebooks" on the blue bar near the top of the page. |

hi turtle, welcome to the forum.
the eb1150 is a great reading device despite its quirks. books must be converted to the imp format but this is very simple ; i recommend buying lit format books, which can be converted using the lit2sb tool. if they are drm (secure) files, you will need the Convert Lit program (search on google). there is also mobi2imp for mobipocket books, and eBook Publisher for creating your own imp books. i do NOT recommend using the BookDesigner program to create imps ; it does a very poor job and is unnecessarily complicated. a card reader can be used to transfer files to the eb1150 but you don't need it ; you can connect the eb1150 to your computer directly and use impserve or the REB Librarian. all of the software i have mentioned in this post is free. you can get a lot of information about helpful software in this wiki page : https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/IMP_software also, there are a lot of very helpful people around here including some real eb1150 experts, so please don't hesitate to take a look around the ebookwise forum and feel free to ask any questions you may have. enjoy your eb1150 ! i promise, you will figure out how to use it. ![]() |
