You're right but people here have found a reference to a small ereader in the last firmware details (or something like that) and I don't think that's for the Glo HD. Also Michael Kozlowski, the Goodereader reviewer, wrote in the comments section "I don't know if Kobo is releasing a 2nd gen Aura this year. I know they have a Mini 2 coming out soon though.". That makes me quite hopeful

My Italian is basic at best, but I guess it means roughly "even though a Kobo Mini second generation is expected next month". Fingers crossed

That was the firmware 3.12.1 they found some code for a device called Pika which might be a 5 inch and possible a new Mini, and for a device called Alyssum which is the new Glo HD.
Only the new Glo HD is confirmed.

The rumor was that they would introduce the new model,maybe a new Mini or Glo, but it was only an announcement that Oprah was coming back to the kobo Cafe.. sometimes all we need is a rumor to feed our wishes

I decided to put on my detective hat and see if there might be any further insight into the Mini rumor by looking up the definition of the codename itself. Unfortunately, Alyssum, is nothing more than a plant. Sigh. And I was all ready to crack the case wide open. Ha.

Oh well.

Alyssum was the name for the new Glo, the name for the possible mini was: Pika ( Pika is a small animal, some kind of rodent) .

Hmm.... Chapters just put the charge for my Glo HD through my bank today. I wonder if that means it's really close to shipping?

My payment is "pending" but I think it's been like that since I ordered. I used Paypal.

And I just noticed my actual charge is $119 in USD, including shipping. Wow! That's great!

I ordered last week and the charge wasn't there then. The way my bank does it, it's still pending only because it just came in today, and it hasn't cleared through the bank yet. It should be out of pending and a completed transaction by tomorrow (at least that's how it's worked with every other vendor, but then I don't buy from Canada often). And the price was $118.64, a nice surprise indeed.

I am so excited. I hope this means they will ship this week! I don't know if mine has been pending since the 8th, I just assumed. I have no idea if it's already been subtracted from the balance or not. I can hardly wait to hold that hot little thing in my hands.

Is that with a case? I got the case for $30. Figured I may as well if the thing's going to last a couple of years, and shipping was free.

FWIW I don't think they'll ship yet. Sorry to be a pooper. I'm not too worried personally. I was going to wait and get it in store, but it was cheaper online and I still get the store guarantee so I went for it. I'd like see to more reviews though. I thought there'd be more on the net today.

I'm looking forward to seeing the screen. Should be nice. I'm not mad about Kobo styling (Aura and Aura HD), but this new Glo HD looks as nice as the Kindle PW case.

The dimensions seem to be the same indeed. But isn't the back a little bit curved, the same way the Auras (regular/HD/H2O) are?
