In my own limited experience of touch-screen ereaders, I find the capacitive touch to be far more precise, highlighting passages is certainly a lot easier on the PW2 than any other reader I've tried (I've yet to play with the Aura H2O though). However, some people just don't seem to get on with capacitive touch, so you really have to try it out for yourself to see what suits you better. I don't think there is one necessarily any better than the other, although I have always understood capacitive to be the more precise of the two, but perhaps that's just down to my own experience, they both have their good and bad points.

Capacitive and therefore Kindles should easily outperform Kobos in touch behavior. Specially because Kobo IR is not specially awesome... As I have already said neither AuraHD nor H2O "see" the stylus from my old Sony PRS-650... Kobo touch response is just good enough, but not something brilliant IMO. (But I still prefer Kobo's IR than Kindle's capacitive).

Nice video comparison. I still can't tell if the Glo HD has a button or a slider.

I wonder what font that Voyage is displaying? It doesn't look like a stock font, to me.

Thank you, it still isn't what I want (comparisation between a "normal" and a Glo HD) but maybe that will never follow
I guess the sleepcover of the normal Glo doesn't fit the Glo HD..
(Like printer cartridges, they always change them a bit so the profit comes from the cartridges, not the printer itself..) so that will again extra money..
Until now, they compare it with a Kindle, but i hope that they show like I said the contrast difference between a normal and the HD-Glo because then you can see if the difference is worth buying it.

My biggest concern with Kobo is there after-sales support. After my Sony 650 failed after 14 months, I swore I'd never buy a new e-reader again. Sony support sucked. Apparently Kobo's does too. I'd buy it from a B&M store, so if there's a problem out-of-the-box, I could return it. Still, I'm uneasy. I'd have to check the B&M guarantee terms. I don't want to deal with am unhelpful and rude Kobo support person in the event of a problem. This is an area where Amazon are far better.

For IR touch stylus prefer cheap water color brush that cut off handle. Would be better to have brush that retracts into handle called a lipstick brush.

While I would agree that Kobo support is not perfect (I don't think any support department is) I'll state for the record yet again: I have dealt with Kobo several times, ranging from problems with purchased ebooks to an Aura HD that stopped charging. In all cases matters have been resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.

Forums such as these tend to accumulate negative experiences. Just doing my part to point out the other side.

I asked at one of the biggest sellers of the Kobo e-readers in the Netherlands (Bol.com) and Belgium why it was not yet possible to pre-order the Kobo Glo HD.
The "helpdesk" answered that they didn't know when the tablet would be added to their collection and that I must visit the site frequently to see if and when the "tablet" was added..
Imagine, about 90% of all the ebooks they sell, and almost the total collection of the readers exists of Kobo readers and then they even didn't know what the Kobo Glo-HD for device is.
This is gonna be a long hot summer before I can order it

I haven't kept up with this thread but has anyone else received theirs yet? I just got home to find out my order from Staples arrived. I didn't think they were shipping until the end of the month?

First impressions. The screen is really nice and the background is more white than my old glo. Also a plus is that at 1% the light is dimmer than my glo at 1%. Also, the texture of the screen feels smoother than my glo screen.

I haven't really been active in is forum but if anyone has questions let me know. I'll try to answer them later today. I don't have much time right now to test it.

Edit: Wow just loaded the same book on both devices and changed the fonts to be the same. The text is so crisp on the Glo HD. It's as if I just put on a pair of glasses and for the first time I'm seeing things sharp. The text on the old Glo is fuzzy in comparison and I can't believe I was reading on that just yesterday.

I will admit I can't find them on the Staples site.

What f/w level is the device on? Settings | Device info
