I fully expect the glo hd to be my next ereader. I wish it had external sd but I probably don't really need it.

Well I am pretty much sold on the new Glo HD as a replacement for my Kobo Touch (which BTW I am nothing but happy about), but it would be nice to see the light functionality "in action" ... But I don't doubt it will work just fine since this won't be the first model for Kobo with the backlight implementation ...

It's probably just as much that the light is now old hat and just work. While there are still differences, there probably isn't enough for it to be a real selling point plus showing the difference in video would take more skill than these guys possess.

I doubt that the value of a used Voyage has dropped at all because of the Kobo HD. I think -- eventually -- the value of new Voyages will drop because of the Kobo HD plus (I'm guessing) more high resolution readers to follow.

Damn English not being my native language... I didn't mean page turns but CSS page-break-whatever properties being ignored by ACCESS.

Either I've missed something recent or you are not remembering it. The last time you posted that RMSDK had been updated in the FW release thread it was made, I performed some dumb tests and I uploaded some pictures of my Kobo showing strange W&O control. IIRC in the previous page there was a blank free space which could have allowed at least one line more of the next page paragraph, and of course the paragraph was long enough in that second page. I'll dig the exact post. (And of course it wasn't that W&O values were 5...)

OK, that I understand. I can't say I've tried them enough to know where and when they do and don't work.

I remember lots of arguing about it. I suppose I don't really remember the result. But, when I get a gap at the bottom of the screen and think it could fit another line, when I have a closer look, I usually decide that there wasn't quite enough space. That's excluding the occasional problem where the last line of a chapter is on a new page, and I haven't seen that much lately.

Widows and orphans work. But I don't like then, so I set them to a value of 1 and that urns them off.

My H2O uses the same generation Carta screen and the FRONT light works very well. No color shifts at all.

That could have been the long paragraph bug causing the problem. The long paragraph bug has been fixed. Besides, nobody uses widow & orphan values of 5.

If you read what arspr said, the discussion happened after the RMSDK was updated to fix the long paragraph bug. And if I read the post correct he is saying it wasn't set to 5. But, he might have been using 5 as a test case. As to no-one uses 5, I've found a couple of books with 4, so I am sure someone out there thinks 5 is a good setting.

No, JSWolf. W&O don't work at all in kepubs. Test it if you want.

They USUALLY work in epubs. But you can get cases when the W&O control is not behaving fine. Or at least it happened some FWs ago when I tested it. As I said I'll try to dig for my last post about it later.

EDITED

I've found the post I was mentioning. It was in FW 3.5.0 thread.

Kobo really needs to change that 100 limit, it's the one thing that cripples their search. Other than that limit, it's much better than the Kindles, but not quite as good as the Sonys (I still wish for a PRS-350 with a front light! ).
I don't understand--I just did a search within the book on both my Kindle Voyage and my Aura HD. In both cases it opened a new page with a list of the instances of the word, with a little bit of surrounding text and the location of the word in the book. In what way is the Kindle search different from the Kobo?
