Peter F. Hamilton will be in Melbourne for the SupaNova expo this weekend. His Void Trilogy (The Dreaming Void, The Temporal Void, The Evolutionary Void) and Commonwealth Saga (Pandora's Star, Judas Unchained) ebooks are on special, $4.99 at Australian and New Zealand retailers. Most of these have been on special in the UK recently for less, but $4.99 seems to be the lowest Macmillan goes in AU/NZ.

Still a pretty good deal, those books are so long that's a lot of reading for the money. I would definitely recommend reading the Commonwealth Saga books first. It's not absolutely required, but you'll have more invested in some of the characters if you have.

Hamilton's one of my favorite authors, and I ended up with an autographed copy of the first volume of his Void Trilogy totally by accident. I bought it used, got it for about $4, which is great for a hardback. I later discovered it had been autographed.

I'm REALLY reluctant to load yet ANOTHER ebook reader app onto my Android devices. Is there anything special about this app? There's plenty to read without resorting to tying myself to yet another proprietary format thats probably just EPUB with extra DRM
