Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion

I bought around 25 books, I don’t have the total amount yet since the charges from yesterday still don’t show in the credit card statement, but I was surprised that my first shopping spree was cheaper the I thought it would be, I shopped in the new Zealand site, but was charged by Kobo Luxembourg in euros so I didn’t have to pay the conversion charge that was 0,40 € for each purchase.

When I finally managed to use the referral page I was able to get several coupons, I hope they work until the 20th as stated in the fine print since I’m waiting for two releases one on the 15Th and one in the 18th

I've read two different things about the multi tab method and the cart.

Can you use the cart in two different tabs?

No... but you CAN do a shopping cart in multiple browers! That's what I did with 9 books per shopping cart (so 9 codes), then 2 different browsers on my computer and 2 different browsers on my tablet. could have done all on one or the other, but logistically, this was easier. i did all the steps except the last step of the transaction, on each browser, then pressed all the buttons at the end in a rush, before any had gone through. ...

The only bad side is i didn't get a receipt email from the last two that went through, so no way of knowing the transaction details/numbers for those books, but they arrived in my library anyway*

*Note: this is not true of 3 books where i did get a receipt for that shopping cart and 3 other books where i didn't get a receipt from the shopping cart. These were all previously in My Previews, but had been deleted before I bought them. I've had this happen on two or more other occasions with books which i first previewed, so has nothing to do with the multi coupon, multi cart thing. anyway, fortunately the girl i got at kobo knew what she was doing and simply looked at THEIR records of my transactions and found the books and added them to my library without as any issues. The time immediately before this time, i had issues with previously previewed books, but were simple buys where i had the receipts, the lady asked me many details she didn't need, including the receipt numbers, which is only located in the emails. As i said, i had the numbers, so it wasn't an issue, but i could see it possibly being an issue, if they demand that information. in which case, i would have said i didn't have them in front of me and asked to call back, and hopefully got one of the more competent ones. As It was, she messed it up and they only shows up in my library instead of both my library and my purchases, like every other time I've had to do it.
Interestingly, the competent ones who didn't ask the transaction number, all sounded foreign, the annoying one who did ask and messed it up was definitely Canadian.

Has anyone received a referral code after the "48 hours" language appeared? I haven't, although it hasn't been quite 48 hours since I sent the referral, and I was wondering if I should just go ahead and use the two coupons I have rather than hoping for more.

Advice/suggestions?

You had better use them and if you get more later, try those. Kobo coupons and deals disappear, often without notice, early or late. Don't wait or you may find yourself unable to use them at all.

Anyone else noticed the positive changes to the web site? The cart image beside the book when searching, and added features on the book info page.

I was "traveling" to the Canadian store, and the splash screen says sign up for a new account and get a $5 credit. Has anyone tried this, or seen it in other stores? I wonder if the credit can be applied on non-couponable books?

Good to know! Thanks so much for pointing that out, I totally had ignored that tab somehow!
Now I won't be worried if i don't get the email. still going to steer clear of previews though, I'm sick of calling kobo.

Still don't understand why the two books the one kobo agent added to my library never showed up in the my purchases tab,...and apparently were never purchased, as they have no purchase date in my library, same as free books. whereas every other time they showed up in both and have a purchase date. oh, well, it's no big deal, only annoying if i accidently delete it from my library, since I'll have to call to have them readd it.
