It's getting slightly OT here, but: Readium, last time I looked at it, was a bunch of Javascript that mangled EPUB(3) in order to provide it to a HTML renderer. So it would be Webkit (full Webkit, whatever that might be) plus a Javascript engine (probably, Webkit's basic engine would be enough). Translated to conditions where it ought to run, it is probably dead-slow. Though now that you mention that Kobos reader might use that, maybe I'll have a look. In a few months, when I have spare time, that is.

@hawhill: I was under the impression that there's now a C++ branch with a working Windows/OS X/Android port (I think Mantano's using it for ePub3 files, for instance), but I haven't checked how it's all supposed to come together . |

We don't have a non-touch, K5 here - that might be a local marketing name. What are the first four characters of your device's serial number? - - - - That will tell us what model you have, see: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers - - - - I think the answer will be "Yes, we already do" - once we know your model. Maybe it would be worth close all requests for enhancements, since they will not be realized?

  - - - - Perhaps you didn't check the public repository before posting. If you had, you would have seen that the most recent commit is less than 24 hours old. See: https://github.com/koreader/koreader/commits/master - - - - Unless you where referring to the comments about the Liberator project. But without any context given in your post, I (and others) have to assume you where questioning the thread topic project. Last edited by knc1; 04-01-2015 at 06:09 AM. | |

				Black screen

Hi - as the title says, I was changing my font in KOReader and then the screen suddenly turned black D: Please help, I'm using a Kindle Paperwhite 1. - edit: never mind, I reset the device and it started working again. Sorry for the panic :X - edit 2: can I request a feature of increasing the line spacing varieties to more than the 3? It would be so much more beneficial to reading in non-roman languages. You can change the numbers behind the three settings if that already fits your needs? DCREREADER_CONFIG_LINE_SPACE_PERCENT_SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE in the default settings. There's an editor you can open via menu. The numbers are in percent of the document's default line spacing.

Hi guys. I'm thinking of this koreader for my paperwhite gen1, mostly for one simple reason: I want to be able to simply create my folders using windows, and simply load books into the folders and be able to access them in my reader. Example: Folder name: Tom Clancy "Books" Red Storm Rising Clear and present Danger Etc etc etc.... I was directed to koreader as a solution, so can I in fact do that...??(I find 'collections' in Calibre a real pain.) Reading a bit, I gather that it in fact changes the reader. I am unclear on what the differences actually are tho. Will it function mostly the same...?? I really only read at night, in bed. I have really simple needs. Thanks. |
