As far as I can tell, ever since that update, the Chrome browser will crash. The screen goes black, then the app is closed and I am on my Nexus home screen. Tapping the icon brings Chrome back to where I was, nothing lost. But it is very annoying and happens very frequently.

Has anyone else experienced Chrome crashing on theirs?

My Nexus 7 (2012) has been on 5.1 for several weeks now. The performance is better than it was under 5.0.2 for the most part. However, sometimes Chrome does hang, especially when started up by the Google search app! Sometimes the tablet appears to have crashed (black screen) but if let alone, it will come back to life on it own. Can't call Lollipop boring!

No problems with Chrome crashing on 5.0.2 last night! So that must have done the trick!

Was just reading a lot of Nexus 7's and Nexus 5's are being bricked by lollipop and the only fix is to buy a new motherboard. I think I'm going to avoid the Nexus range in future as they seem to be ignoring the problem.

Luckily it hasn't affected me and my 2012 model seems a bit more usable on 5.1.

It sounds like it's only happening to those who are rooted. Every time you update a rooted device you take that risk.

I have a 2013 Nexus 7 with 5.02 and it is fine. Mine is/was not rooted.

Same for me. Running fine with no problems at/after the update.

It isn't it's only happening to Googles 5.0.2 Stock Firmware from what I've read and it only seems to be bricking the 2013 Nexus 7's, I'm, not sure about the Nexus 5's there are some reports of that getting bricked but I think Google stopped the update there before many got it.

I have not had the issue so far on my nexus 7 2013, and my wife's nexus 7 2012 is running 5.1. I have been reading that 5.1.1 should be out soon and that is what both nexus 7s will be getting.

I updated from 5.0.2 to 5.1 today and everything went smoothly. I haven't tested every app, but my most important ones (Calibre Companion and Mantano) work fine

My Nexus 4 got the 5.1 Update today. Still finishing the install. I'll report if any problems occur.

I updated my nexus 7 2013 to 5.1 and so far I am not seeing any thing different. Maybe a little better use of memory.

Well I just bought myself a Note Pro 12.2 it was very reasonably priced for a 32gb model and lets me ditch my Nexus 7 on a family member and avoid lollipop for now.

So maybe not lollipop completely to blame but still worrying enough to help me move onwards.

Get rid of my Nexus 7!?! Never! It's my baby. Out of all my devices it's the one I use all the time. Lollipop is fine. I like it. At first I didn't but it has a lot of pros that make it worth upgrading.
