Oh well I think I can save my money. I was hoping for an updated 6" Aura with the better screen and flush bezel. I love the size and the design of the Aura but the substandard screen made me change to the H2O.

Edit: I might be tempted after all as I've just seen it will be available in white! Last edited by Lyn2012; 04-09-2015 at 09:50 AM. |

I don't understand why Kobo would not continue the flush screen like on the Aura. No more dust and crumbs under the bezel. That and the lack of card slot are dealbreakers.

Amazon did a much better job with the Voyage because they used glass (iirc) which kept the display crystal clear and "scratch" free. Of course, this increased the price and the fragility of the device. I'm afraid the IR vs Capacitive war will never end, but IR is much better for an e-reader IMO. |

I returned the Aura for the simple reason that under an angle, like a tablet,it was full with greasy fingermarks, I am sure my glo and auraHD have them to,but they are not visible.

Thanks for the replies on IR vs capacitive screen. I was never getting a Kindle (bias I guess) but knowing this information helps tremendously!

I guess I lean more towards IR because I realise that sometimes I use my fingernail to turn the page on the Nook (owing to weird reading positions). I don't need to wear gloves where I am, and maybe having the bedsheets turn pages accidentally is not ideal, but if IR screens make the device cheaper to manufacture and less fragile to handle, I'm all in. I don't mind the screen not being level with the sides because it feels like a decent demarcation of where the touch-screen area is. Hopefully the information about Glo HD being IR screen is fact! Because I'm now excited! Last edited by Ryvyan; 04-09-2015 at 11:45 AM. |

Quick Question - Does Kobo partition their memory the way B&N does on the Nook? Although I do prefer the external SD card, 4 GB is ample storage for me provided it is all available.

Kobo do not partition the storage. You get all that's available for either Kobo downloaded eBooks and/or your own sideloaded eBooks.

And remember, if the device uses an SD card internally, you can open the Kobo, duplicate the card onto a larger capacity one, and gain more internal storage.

I'm using a Glo that has 5781 MB of 7064 MB available. I replaced the stock 2 MB card by an 8 MB one. |

Haven't seen a lot of discussion regarding the most striking feature of this new reader: the pricetag. It's only 129$! That's an incredible price for something that is very comparable to the 199$ Kindle Voyage.
