The codes I received prior to today all start with FRIEND - -those codes just worked (US) for me. However, the codes I received today start with FRND and these codes did not work for me.

I wonder if the FRIEND codes work until end of the day Apr 6, and the FRND codes will work Apr 7 - Apr 13?

A FRND code I received this morning did not work on a NZ account - newly set up for the purpose and it is already the 7th here. Oh well, guess the party's over.

@Cadele, no, it's definitely not. I bought in the NZ store this morning, perhaps an hour or so ago, using a code I got at least 4 days ago. That is, before they issued new codes that don't work.

Aah. Well, I still picked up a few off my wish list using a 35% code from the first page of the thread, and that was still good value.

It will be interesting to see if any return 90% codes come through at some point.

I still have a list of more expensive books to go...

As of 11 p.m. EST my FRIENDxxx codes are not working but the 2 FRNDxxxxx codes that I obtained earlier today on virgin accounts worked fine.

Interesting. I just looked at my coupons. The FRIEND and FRNDM/FRNDN coupons worked. None of the FRND (with the fifth character not being M or N) have worked.

Golly gee this is quite frightening news to those of us who like a good bargain, and have been buying big ......

The wording in the latest code bearing emails states:

It’s simple to get started. Browse for a new eBook and enter this code at checkout by April 20th
That's right, April 20th. Mate, I'm broke now .....

Here's the Legal on the bottom of that email:

Legal: .... Offer valid for customers in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Offer expires on the date indicated in the referral email. etc etc
So, the final date now seems to be well, a final date of April 20 .... except .... the kobobooks.com promo page states:

... Offer valid for customers in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Offer valid from March 25, 2014 at 12:00 AM EST through April 13, 2015 at 11:59 PM EST....
So, I guess sooner or later they'll change that date to match the date in the code bearing email. (Well, you'd imagine that's what Kobo will do!)

BTW I've tested the new codes and they all work now, including the ones that didn't work over the last day or so.

They should've gone for broke and made it the 21st, a Tuesday.

I imagine generating 90% referral codes are only until the 13th while the codes are to be used by the 20th.
