It's excellent, yes, but it's absolutely nothing like "The Martian" in terms of being a "hard SF" novel. There are many very good hard SF authors around.

in something vaguely meta...Wil Wheaton narrates the audiobook for Ready Player One. Unusually i prefer the audiobook over the deadtrees version.

I got the ebook from the library last month and tore through it. Usually I'm struggling to finish a book in the two week loan period, but this one didn't last three days.

Since Weir was giving the epub away for free, and I happened be taking a business trip with airplanes and hotels to kill time in, 'The Martian' was the first novel I've eye-read on my Kindle in some time.

Loved it. Couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to the movie. I hope they don't screw it up.

I also enjoyed 'Ready Player One' with WW's narration.
Cline's new novel is available for pre-order on Audible, I see.

You folks who liked The Martian and RPO, please come over to the thread I'm about to start in this section and help me spend my last Audible credit.
