I just wondered if CC was any closer to an IOS app? This is the one app I really miss. I have it on my Kindle Fire HDX but it would be lovely on my ipads and iphone.

Sorry, but no. I don't have the equipment or the expertise to do it. My son has both but his company is more successful than expected and he can't make the time. I am hoping that at some point one of his new hires can do CC for iOS as a startup project.

I like to have shortcuts to the books I am currently reading on my home screen. I know that some reader apps, such as Mantano, have their own widgets to do this, but that requires using that app to maintain the library, in addition to having CC maintain it. There are also some reader apps that do not have this feature, such as Perfect Viewer (for graphic novels).

I know that there are file managers that can create such shortcuts, but they are not able to use the book cover as the shortcut icon.

My wish is that CC have the ability to create a home-screen shortcut to a book using its cover as the shortcut icon. Tapping the shortcut would open the book for reading in whatever app I have specified for the book's format.

You can stop the downloads by disconnecting from the content server.
Hi Chaley,
Thanks for your quick response.
I can imagine with an app design that as far as possible one likes to stick to one click commands....? So in this case, since you ask, I'd guess that a dialogue box from around 10 books would be the best option,or perhaps better still,10 books or 10mbs, whatever occurs first. Things like ''Collected works'' epubs can be pretty heavy files D.H Lawrence for instance is 30 mbs.
Mistakes can happen late at night after a few beers on little screens and you may not notice in time to disconnect the server...,...not the end of the world of course, but a confirmation request would grab your attention and for those who dont drink beers or make mistakes you could just switch it off in the options.

I have added this to the wish list on the first post. Not sure when I will get to it, but I will eventually.

Interesting idea. I am taking this to its own thread, Desktop widget to ask CC to "read" a book, to foster further discussion.

Is it possible to get a choice to disconnect when you try to delete a book while you are still connected instead of just getting a message that you can't delete while connected? I sometimes forget to disconnect and it's a pain to go back to the main screen and disconnect and then go back to the book you want to delete and delete it. I am rarely at the computer when I connect wirelessly so all this is done from CC only.

Group by User Defined Fields from Calibre

I did a quick search but didn't find this, if it's out there already I'm sorry.

I have a user-defined field in Calibre, "Collections" which I populate with things like "Man Booker Prize Winners", "NYT Fiction Bestsellers", "Adapted to Film or TV" and such like. I love that in CC you can group by author or series, but really want to be able to group by "collection" in CC as well. Is there a way to do that already, or is that something I'm correct in posting here as a wish list item?

You can already do what you want. See the FAQ answer How do I add my custom columns to the Grouping drawer? in the Grouping, Sorting, and Searching section.

I checked and updated the FAQ answer to ensure that it is up-to-date with CC options.
