All done.
A few pages earlier within this thread the same problem I am having is mentioned. I looks like one of the columns is changing by itself which is causing the problem. |

Which algorithm are you using?
I find the 'custom (chars per page)' works well for me. What can the 'readabilty options' be used for? |

Are you ALSO importing PAGE metadata using a 3rd party (not stock Calibre) plugin? I believe some allow page/word counts

![]() I have no clue, I use a minimal amount of metadata PI, In would rather make my own decisions errors You could start by disabling each user PI you have used (preferences: plugins:metadata source:<source> ) there is a disable button near the bottom |

I love this plugin. Is there a way to turn off the Yes/No confirmation every time I run it, though? I just want it to apply the results without clicking it every time because I use it a lot. If not could you add an option to run the confirmation dialog off? Thanks!

Confirmations are there for a reason. To eliminate DB WRITE access conflicts by asking when YOU are ready (and not using those records)
CP operates in Bulk mode. 1 confirm for N books |

I run it one book at a time - via Alt/C! When it finishes I am FORCED, repeat I am FORCED, to use the mouse on a auxiliary monitor to click OK on a PI that I have used tens of thousands of times without a single error. I am willing to take the risk on DB WRITE conflicts - same with Modify epub file conflicts. And why should Count Pages & Modify need confirms when Polish, Convert etc don't ? For me, that slider notify is the real issue - it should be keyboard operable ![]() BR Last edited by BetterRed; 04-02-2015 at 06:27 PM. |

The slider popups NEVER get keyboard focus - hence Alt/Y does not work on them.
If it works for you please tell me what you did. I know several people who avoid using the mouse as I do, because of disability, who would also love to know how. BR |

calibre 2.22 x64 W7
I just tested before posting cleared a page count Ran count pages. 'Slider' rose from the tooltray. (Yes button has blue outline) Alt-Y (slider slips away), page count now there Mostly Vanilla W7 and Calibre (minimal Kybd shortcuts changed) |

@theducks -
![]() Curious - can you recall when the accelerator keys were added to the Notify Slide-ups. I'm pretty sure they weren't there when that feature was initially implemented -- IIRC I complained they were mouse only artefacts. For reasons unknown even to myself I had Alt/Y assigned to extract ISBN - Y rhymes with I ![]() ![]() There's no check in Prefs->Keyboard to prevent Notify Slide-up accelerator keys being used for other purposes. Maybe if there's a Notify pending it should get priority. I teach old people how to use computers, many of whom have arthritis and HRS, so like me they're mouse averse. Most of those that have calibre also 'inherited' my shortcuts. I'll send them an apologetic Easter email ![]() Added : see ==>> Bug #1439888 “Slideup Notify Accelerator Keys” BR Last edited by BetterRed; 04-02-2015 at 10:29 PM. |

The standard buttons (Yes/No/OK) have always had keyboard shortcuts.
And note that the keyboard shortcuts config widget does not warn you about *any* accelerator conflicts, doing so, is way too much work, since accelerators are implemented internally in Qt and depend on the desktop environment and interface language and there is no easy way for the keyboard management system to know what they are. |

alt-Y doesn't seem to work on my mac (alt being option on mac) and I tried the other function keys, control-y, option-y, cmd-y, shift-y. I'd be ok with the confirmation if I could confirm via keyboard.
