Interesting. Looks the white Kindle may only be marginally better in China.

That would work if you can match the colors of the bevel and the screen exactly or nearly exactly. And make the screen flush with the bevel. But I doubt if that is the case here.

Indeed. Our old white K2 didn't serve in that way at all, in fact the bezel and screen sort of clashed, which made it worse. I prefer the the black/gray. it fades into the background like a dimmed theater around a lit stage.

I have heard that different cultures have different colors standing for different things. Like white is the color of purity in many western societies but orange is in some others like (I think) India. So when family planning organizations try to hand out some birth control items there people weren't using them because they were orange and sex is far from purity. Different words have the same problem. A German car co. named its car something (I can't recall the word) but in Japanese (or maybe Chinese) it had a meaning that was detrimental to sales.

I always used to hear the myth of the difficulty Chevy had selling the Nova in Spanish speaking countries because of the association with "no va" translating as "doesn't go."

I started out with a white K2 way back when. The white bezel was not very good for reading in my case. I greatly prefer a dark bezel to keep down the glare and add contrast between the bezel and the screen. But the bezels were much larger back then, and of course everyone has different tastes and needs. The worst bezel/case I ever had was a Sony PRS-300 (I think) with a metallic bezel that really was annoying out doors in the sunshine! Way too much glare. The white K2 was awfully bright too in the sunshine as I recall. But even black bezels can cause glare if they have a shiny surface. So for me a nice flat, dull black or dark grey would be best.
