KUAL works on Voyage?
Hello guyz! Pardon my, most probably silly question, but I am a real newbie to Kindles. The idea is I have just purchased a Kindle Voyage (is on the way) and I read that Voyages had no more support for Active Content. This is indeed very sad because I believe it is wonderful to be able to play chess on this device. So I badly need chess. I have just found out about the KUAL, which allows to run, say, pbchess! But I still cannot understand, can KUAL be installed on Kindle Voyage, or it can't? Could anybody please nlighten me on the matter? And if it cannot, perhaps there is some other way to run chess on Voyage?

@Skfir: Most likely not, Amazon apparently killed the Kindlet framework on the Voyage.

Plus, you'd have to actually be able to jailbreak it first anyway.

Well... Sad news, but thank you really for the reply. Of course personally for me the absence of chess is a "spoon of tar" in this "basin of honey", but I hope Voyage will be a great device. Thank you for the reply mate!

Assuming you are jailbroken, Aeris' Native Menu could work as a suitable launcher. It will have to be modified, in order to initialize without KUAL.

NiLuJe -- what would be the best way, via upstart maybe? If so, when?

Sorry for a stupid question, is it really possible at the moment to jailbreak the Voyage without a hardware "surgery"?
I am not jailbroken and I even don't know how to do it on the Voyage without opening it up...

not the voyage, not the paperwhite 2 or anything with latest 5.6 firmware

Perhaps not on the latest, but on 5.6.1.0.2 -

I think there are other posts here where people are using KUAL on 5.6.x series firmware (but perhaps not on the Voyage model,
perhaps only on the PW2 and KT2 models).

well, I think the "hardware surgery" term includes the serial port method,
or any method is not simple as one-click jailbreaking.
especially for us beginners
