				Installing Google Apps (gapps)

Hi! I recently received my Boyue T62+ (in the settings it states the model to be a 'T62D') and like it very much so far. Can not really say anything about battery life, but that will be subject to test in the next time.

So far I already rooted it and got the playstore working to install things such as dropbox to sync reading material. I also changed the ID for the market to 'Samsung S3' to download unsupported apps and that is where I need help: I am a quadrocopter pilot and plan to secondary use the T62 to display inflight values which will come in either via wifi or a ftdi-adapter connected to the otg port. If only I have come so far... my goal is to use the widely used 'multiwii ez-gui' app for android but until now I haven't gotten it to install properly. It only shows an error saying 'Missing shared library.' and stops installing. I presume it has something to do with the maps shared library missing because gapps are not installed.. How do I install the google apps on this device? Thanks in advance for help, awesome forum, good guide! |

I tried the "search for update" button, on my T62B today, and it shows that there is an update available now. I'm having a hard time trying to download it directly onto my device. Has the link in the OP been updated? If not, does anyone have a link to the update? Thanks!

What happens when I try to download the update on my device is that it goes to 2% or 3% and then stops. Last edited by downeaster59; 04-04-2015 at 04:10 PM. |

I did get the update downloaded. The opening animation is a little different. I haven't found any changes yet, except some slight changes in the default icons. The contrast looks slightly better. I'll keep looking!

I lost root, of course, but I easily re-rooted with Root Master. One piece of good news is that I didn't lose Google Play Store. However, Play Store was slow to get back in the game. The first time I tried it after updating, all I got was a blank screen and a spinning circle. I then checked permissions in ES File Explorer. All the Google apks were still at 6-4-4. I tried Play Store again. The app opened, but told me that it couldn't connect to the internet - even though my wifi was fine. I went out of it, and tried again in a few minutes. All was well. Hi, I've been trying to set up the Dictionary in the T62+ too and I cant get any dictionary to show. In the manual it says that dictionaries should be on /mnt/sdcard/Dict/ folder. Does anyone know what kind of file it supports? I tried with prc, dict y mobi.

It is using only Stardict files.

Every Stardict dictionary consists at least of 3 files: *.idx.gz *.ifo *.dict.gz Foldername should be Dict (“/mnt/sdcard/Dict”). I think Dicts can be placed in subfolder, but that is for you to test: /mnt/sdcard/Dict/1/1.idx.gz /mnt/sdcard/Dict/1/1.ifo /mnt/sdcard/Dict/1/1.dict.gz If Dictionary is not recognized, try to unzip it: 1.idx.gz -> 1.idx & 1.dict.gz -> 1.dict. Attention: The dict-viewer has problems with html-formated dics, showing the html tags too. Thats probably one more reason to use other dictionary apps (fora etc.) and alternativ ebook reader programs (AlReader, Coolreader etc.). Edit: Some Stardict examples can be found at the Icarus Website. Last edited by nhedgehog; 05-07-2015 at 06:46 AM. |

Has anyone been able to use OpenVPN on Boyue T62 (or T61 or Icarus E563 or Energy Sistem Pro or whatever)?

I've rooted my device and used "Tun.ko Installer" but it only seems to download a "tun.ko" file and place it in the storage space's root! Both OpenVPN Connect and OpenVPN For Android give the error that they've not been able to access "/dev/tun" and tun.ko. I did copy the mentioned tun.ko file into "/system/lib/modules/" and after this, both of the mentioned OpenVPN clients seem to connect but as soon as they get IP from the server the device REBOOTS! :/ Any idea? How should I make the "/dev/tun" file which is missing from this device and seems like the manufacturer hadn't included support for tun connections. |

I have added direct links to all official updates. The server is slow but you can use a download manager to solve the problem.

http://vtun.sourceforge.net/tun/faq.html The "'tun.ko" which you copied is the driver but it might not be compatible with your device (crashes, reboot, ... etc) since a different device's kernel was used to build it. |

I have been trying to find the StarDict dictionary files for my new Boyue T62, but it seems that they are no longer on SourceForge. Does anyone know where I can find them? I wanted to use them with ColorDict.
