I really enjoyed (combination of Kindle & audiobook) the first in the series, and just started on the second. The setting is St Mary's Historical Institute, where historians go back in time to witness important historical events. There's quite a high level of danger (they often come back wounded, sometimes dead), but the tone of the first book is light-hearted, with plenty of humour.

It appears to be set in the future (there's mention of things like data cubes), but it's never specified exactly when, and the technology isn't very important to the story.

I could only find one that I wanted which is usually the way. I wish they'd open up the lists more they often bulk up the list with titles that have appeared in sales previously

This is typical for me, too. I haven't tried it yet, but I've read elsewhere that if you put the single book in the special cart, the next time the promotion runs the book will still be there and you can add the one book from that time and get them both as the twofer.

I think blanket recommendations are the next thing to useless; just the same I'll say that one of the books in the promotion, Matterhorn, was one of the two best novels I listened to last year.

For those who have not been around for these B4G10 deals before, the words "regular price" make what would be a poor deal into one which can work out fairly nicely.

For example, many of the daily Audible deals, which usually are $1.95 to $4.95, are on audiobooks which have regular prices of $14.95 or over. I probably buy one every two weeks or so, myself. If you take advantage of a Whispersync deal, you may pay only a few dollars for the audiobook, which normally is $14.95 or higher. If you borrow a Kindle mobi book from a library that has a Whispersync audio companion, you can get the reduced price for the audio while the book is loaned to you. I'm missing probably several other obvious situations, but I'm sure that you see the point. It is possible to spend $20 or less and qualify for the free $10.

For fans of stand-up comedy, the current Humble Weekly Bundle Stand-Up Comedy presented by Comedy Dynamics contains a mix of audio & video routines and specials by noted US comedians, including the apparently highly-influential late Bill Hicks (Wikipedia).
