That's an exceptional price if you sign up to Prime.

I've only had my prime a month and I've paid my full year but I got £40 back when they reduced my HDX after I'd had it 7 days so I can't be greedy, plus they've already added an extra month on as compensation for a parcelforce botched delivery.

For that price, even though I already have a Chromecast, it's worth looking at.

Ordered one too, for 19 Eur which is really super cheap. I have started watching a lot of prime on my fire hd but the kids want to watch it on a bigger screen and the wii app quality is not good, so hoping to get better results with the stick...

Given good broadband you will probably get very good image quality out of the Fire Stick.
Very crisp, very smooth. Right up there with XBOX one and better than many older HD streamers.

Wii, if I remember correctly, is SD only, right?

I've no idea sorry. We were just suprised and pleased it could be used for Amazon Prime (and Netflix although we no longer have a subscription). We've had it for years and it finally gets used

My TV is 33 years old. It does not have any ports.

Is there a converter which will allow me to plug the Fire Stick into an RCA jack?

There are, but I don't think that is the best solution for you. I think you would be better off with a streamer that is composite. Some of the Roku models are composite. I can't speak for all models, but it looks like they FINALLY got an update on the Roku 2 XS which is stable.

I prefer the Roku 2 XS to the newer models because...

1) IR or bluetooth remote -- no problematic wifi direct
2) composite and hdmi -- you can use it with your old tv and take it to a new one
3) usb -- play media off a usb device
4) wired ethernet -- works best if you are near a connection

Here is a link to some top channels streamed by roku fanboys.

if you really want to convert hdmi to composite, a lot of people say this works with the fire tv.

I have a couple old Roku LT 2400 units that are rock solid. Can probably be picked up for $20 on ebay. They can be connected with the old RCA type plugs.
