Cover doesn't show up on Sony PRC 300

I downloaded an epub of one of my books from Draft2Digital and sideloaded it to my Sony PRC 300, and the book is there and the TOC is functional but there is no cover. (It's just a blank page where the cover should be.) I checked the selfsame epub in Sigil and the cover is there. Any reason the cover wouldn't be showing up in the PRC 300? Thanks.

Can you post the code in the cover XML along with any relevant CSS code? Also, how large is the cover and did you do anything to the cover like optimize it?

I've noticed that my Kobo sometimes requires that I 'edit' the cover image and save it. Don't have to make any changes to it, just need to do something to the file to reorder it...

I've never had a cover problem on my H20 or 650, but I have on my 505 which I think was running the same old version of RMDSK (ADE).

Was the semantics properly set for BOTH the cover page (file) and the cover image

Tools: Add cover will replace a coverpage (it will create a new one if it was not properly marked) with all the proper stuff done in 1 step

Thanks murg. I don't get any instructions. Just the blank page on the ereader where the cover should be.

Well, that's probably it then. Plus the PRC only has the 5" screen. (I knew I shouldn't have bought it--ha ha. Just kidding. I really like it.)

Load the cover into a program that displays it properly and can save as BMP. Then load the BMP into a program that can output JPG. Then try that newly made JPG and see if it works.

The code seems correct. Covers like that do show up on my old PRS-300. It could be that the size of the cover is too big, I never tested images with those dimensions.

My Astak Pocket Pro barfs (Aborts the loading of the book) on covers 1/2 that huge.

BTW That (and any Sigil 'add cover') cover page does NOT use/need the CSS

My Mantano Android reading app (RMSDK-based) will show a blank cover page whenever one side of the image reaches or exceeds the 2400px mark. Editing the image to bring the longest side just under 2400px (and adjusting the corresponding size attributes in the svg wrapper to match) usually fixes the problem. Perhaps the PRC 300 suffers from the same limitation?

Thanks everybody. I'm convinced the PRC is just too old to handle the bigger cover. And I'm not that invested in juggling stuff around to see it on the PRC. (I can see it on the Kindle.) Thanks again.
