part of my problem is that my dog that is supposed to be my service dog suddenly developed an aversion to the car in December. Fourth month in a row of no rain...nothing but 85°, sunshine and blue skies. Sorry, guys.

Fact is, we NEED some precip or we're going to go into drought conditions. Oh well, the rains will start soon, and then it will rain every day for the following 3-4 months! Gotta love jungle living! LOL!

I hate bongos and fireworks*

Last night I was almost asleep when they opened the garden doors at one of the nearby student houses and started playing the bongos loudly. It only lasted a couple of minutes but I was wide awake by the time they'd finished.

A little while later when, again, I was almost asleep someone started to set off fireworks, the flash & bang kind. It didn't last long but after that it took me over an hour to fall asleep again. Hopefully last night wasn't a preview of what the coming summer will be like!

* unless the firework is used to blow up the bongos.

They just installed a content block on the Sprinter (mini train) WiFi. Which I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't block a page for merely having an embedded YouTube video!

The Thai government has suppressed all detailed topographic maps for the northern regions along the Burmese and Laotian borders. I can find automotive maps showing major roads, but nothing giving details of the back-country jeep tracks or trails close to the borders. This is going to take our motorcycle tour of the Golden Triangle to a whole different level...
