What exactly isn't working? At least, on the PW2, I can share my progress on Social Media just fine with sideloaded books. The progress is saved on Goodreads and tweeted. Didn't check FB as I don't use it.

Do you have an Amazon US account? Goodreads integration is, to the best of my knowledge, only available to such accounts.
